Good Hot Day For Truth

8-20-19 hot day
Colorado, 8-20-19, 1:56 p.m., 91 degrees

Hello everyone and God bless you all!  It is 91 degrees here today!  It has been hot like this for awhile and I love it!  I’m soaking up every last bit of summer I can before winter’s bone comes back.  Those Rocky Mountains are pretty, but winter is coming and those mountains don’t mess around!  I enjoy the intense heat of August.  Just wanted to share a powerful life changing truth and these photos today.  I am recovering from yet another Celiac/Cachexia episode where I lose a bunch of weight, so I am taking it easy and the Lord is tending to me.  I’ll be alright, but I always appreciate your prayers.  God is good and faithful and we can trust Him even in our suffering.

I just took the photo above from our back deck, which faces south.  I was turned towards the Rockies in the west.  Here is a photo of the sunset on Sunday taken from our bedroom window on the north side of the house.  Not my best shot, but it was taken on zoom through glass with my phone.  The sun is setting earlier now and the August skies are calming.  God is in control and He displays His strength and power in His creation every day.

The truth I want you to remember is this: Jesus is Lord!

Jesus Christ is Lord.  He is not simply a prophet or a good teacher.  Jesus Christ is God in human flesh!  Jesus is Lord!

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  He was with God in the beginning.

Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.  In him was life, and that life was the light of men.  The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it.”

John 1:1-5

Jesus is the Word and those verses are telling us that Jesus was in the beginning before all creation, Jesus was with God, and Jesus is God!  All things were made through Jesus and He alone is our life and light in this dark world!  God made Himself a man, the Lord Jesus, and He came to earth to die for our sins and save our souls!

“The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us.  We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.”

John 1:14

“I tell you the truth,” Jesus answered, “before Abraham was born, I am!”

John 8:58

“..while we wait for the blessed hope–the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ.”

Titus 2:13

Jesus was before Abraham because Jesus is God in human flesh.  Jesus existed long before Abraham.  Jesus is Lord!  We call on Jesus to be saved because there is no other name on earth that can save us.  Put your faith in Jesus and He will forgive you of your sins, save your soul, and fill you with His Holy Spirit (who seals you in Christ and empowers you to live a righteous life)!

“Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.”

Acts 4:12

“That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.  For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.  As the Scripture says, “Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame.”  For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile–the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

Romans 10:9-13

“And you also were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation.  Having believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession–to the praise of his glory.”

Ephesians 1:13-14

Jesus Christ is the only One who ever died for our sins and rose again three days later defeating sin and death!  Jesus was not merely a good man.  Jesus Christ is the Savior of the entire world!  It is through His blood by faith in Jesus alone that our sins are forgiven and we are made righteous.

“For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, and that he appeared to Peter, and then to the Twelve.  After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers at the same time…”

1 Corinthians 15:3-6

“This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe.  There is no difference, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.  God presented him as a sacrifice of atonement, through faith in his blood.  He did this to demonstrate his justice, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished–he did it to demonstrate his justice at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus.”

Romans 3:22-26

Consider these verses regarding the Name of Jesus with all of your heart!

“Therefore God exalted him

to the highest place

and gave him the name

that is above every

name,

that at the name of Jesus

every knee should bow,

in heaven and on earth

and under the earth,

and every tongue confess

that Jesus Christ is

Lord,

to the glory of God the

Father.”

Philippians 2:9-11

Does that sound like Jesus is just another prophet or good teacher?  NO!  Jesus Christ is Lord and every knee will bow (in heaven, and on earth, and down in hell) before Him and every tongue will confess that truth to Him!  You may hear people say many things about Jesus, but the Truth is that Jesus Christ is Lord and only He can save your soul.

Grace and peace to you all!

  1. When I see Jesus in my mind and I am feeling most grateful and humbled by his sacrifice for us, in my heart and mind I am bowing at his feet. I love him so much.

  2. It’s amazing that you guys are experiencing weather in the 90’s there in Colorado! We have been having sporadic rain showers here… I’m so sorry your celiac has flared up again Ryan! Will be praying for you! I know it’s hard! 🙏🏼…
Loved the pics!…And loved the scriptures! I have always loved John 1:1. It’s a very profound scripture to me, along with Isaiah 9:6. Jesus is so many things! It’s amazing that HE is the WORD. And that WORD is God! And that He loved us so much that He, the WORD, robed Himself in flesh, And came down as a baby, and grew up to save us from our sins! Isn’t it truly amazing that God, being a Spirit, robed Himself in flesh?! He knew that being in the flesh would cause Him to be subject to weaknesses, suffering and sadness—but He did it all for us! I can hardly wrap my mind around that! His love is truly amazing like that! And He is always touched by the feeling of our infirmities!

  3. Amazing is how I felt reading this post. There is just something about Jesus and calmness. His presence has a calming effect like no other. That is why He is referred to as The Prince of Peace! I enjoyed how you described The Word. He is indeed a Living Word. As for winter/summer, I have never even seen snow! My country is right at the equator. Kenya has only two seasons. Dry season and rainy season. May be one day, I will get to experience the four seasons that you are so privileged to have.

    1. Amen sister! So thankful the Lord comforts and calms our hearts with His peace! That is a good way to look at the changing seasons. Sometimes winter can be rough, but it can be fun too. Definitely fun going sledding, you would love that!😊 God bless you sister and God bless Kenya and all of Africa!
