Jesus Is Still The Answer

Jesus started his ministry when He was 33. That was 1,987 years ago. A lot has changed since then, but we are still on the same earth dealing with the same sins. Despite all the modern inventions and technology, we still see the same violent rebellion against God, and it is getting worse. People are scared of death. That is really what is driving this entire psychological operation of virus fear mongering we are all living through. People don’t want to die, and they have deep and serious questions regarding their soul and eternity. I’m here to tell you, Jesus is still the answer in 2020 and He will be the answer forever!

My Great Great Grandpa was killed by lighting when he was about my age in his early 40s. He was trying to get the horses in the barn during a storm. They found him with a hole in his hat from where the lighting had struck him in the head. Whether it is from a lighting bolt, a virus, a heart attack, or whatever other dangers we face, we will all take our last breath someday. That seems scary and people don’t like talking about that hard truth, but we don’t have to be afraid with Jesus. He defeated sin and death at the cross, and He set us free from the fear of death!

“Since the children have flesh and blood, he too shared in their humanity so that by his death he might destroy him who holds the power of death-that is, the devil-and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death.”

-Hebrews 2:14-15

People are scared of death because the evil one holds that power over the world and he makes people slaves to it. There is only One who can release you from that evil fear and set you free, and His Name is Jesus! When Jesus died on the cross for the sins of all mankind, He destroyed the devil and set the captives free! God, in His great love, poured out His love and grace on the world and opened the Way to Heaven through the Blood of His Son!

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

-Jesus speaking in John 3:16

Do you want to be free from the evil one and that evil fear? Then believe in Jesus! Turn from the sin and wickedness in this world and give your life to the One who loves your soul!

“Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

-John 14:6

There is only one Way to Heaven. God’s one and only Son is Jesus, and only Jesus died for our sins. No other name in all creation has ever done that or could ever do that! Indeed death is coming for us all, but those who know Jesus Christ already stand victorious over death! Our sins have been forgiven and we stand reconciled with God! When I stopped breathing on 4-28-2012 (see my post My Lazarus Moment), Jesus was right there with me comforting and protecting me! There was no fear! There was no pain! I was in perfect peace with my Savior who loves me!

“Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.”

-Acts 4:12

“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

-Romans 6:23

“Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death.”

-Romans 8:1-2

The Lord put me back in my body that day and I am only alive because of Jesus. Thank You, Jesus! We have all sinned and we all desperately need God’s grace, mercy, forgiveness, and love. Give those burdens, sins, and fears to Jesus! He will forgive you and make you new in the power of the Holy Spirit! Yes, God will actually fill you with His Holy Spirit, which empowers you to live a righteous life that pleases God!

“This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.”

-Romans 3:22-24

“And you also were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation. Having believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession-to the praise of his glory.”

-Ephesians 1:13-14

“The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.”

-Galatians 5:19-23

You don’t have to be afraid anymore. Jesus loves you, Jesus died for you, and Jesus is waiting for you with open arms!

“That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”

-Romans 10:9

Grace and peace to you all!

  1. What a story of your grandfather. I know a couple people in Orlando who got struck by lightning, they were together when it happened they were told for 2 weeks because of the electrical current in their bodies they had to be separate. Sorry about you grandfather. I do know even as believers we can fear the unknown. I also know that from all the very close personal stories I know of the death of a believer Jesus reveals himself to that person in some fashion that gives them the utmost peace to let go, and be at rest with their passing. My mom works in a hospital she has some beautiful stories, as well I have some family who were, and were not. God is very faithful in all times. Thanks for your share!

    1. Thanks, I appreciate that! I’ve been having a rough time since the move. You all are a blessing to me too! I hope to be on here more consistently very soon. It’s been hard for me to write lately. Been dealing with a lot of physical and emotional pain the last couple weeks. The evil one has been attacking me with shame from past sins too. The Lord took care of that recently and I’m feeling better. Just keeping my eyes on Jesus and praying a lot. Spending time in His Word too. Hanging out with my family a lot too. I know He will strengthen me in time. God bless!

      1. Thanks! That’s the Holy Spirit connection right there! Your prayers are definitely helping! I was having dark suicidal thoughts again that I had way back at the beginning of the disease. I’ve been through those battles before, so I know how to counter it, but it is still hard to get through. Lost my appetite and wept a lot last week. Praise God for the power of the Spirit inside us! Jesus keeps us moving forward one step at a time. Thanks again for your prayers and encouragement!

      2. I pray that the Lord fills you with his light and love, Ryan. These are indeed weird times, I have personally experienced thoughts and moods that I don’t remember having ever since my conversion. It’s rough, but the Lord can and will rescue us every time if we seek him. I know you are already seeking him and will pray for you!

  4. With your meaningful and trusted ministry, Ryan, you fill us with hope and give us another encouraging message of God’s mercy with His glorious gift to us of eternal life! “Thank you, God, for loving us so you gave the world your son, Jesus, who saved us and loves us and is with us always, even with our last breath. Thank you, God, for giving us the Holy Spirit to help guide us and show us the way, to protect us in our journey here on earth.” Amen. What a beautiful thing and reassuring to know, that when we take our last breath, that Jesus will be there to comfort us and take our soul, along with the Holy Spirit, to our glorious, eternal home. “Thank you, Jesus. Thank you, God in all Glory!” Amen
Thank you, Ryan, we are so blessed to have you as our son, and blessed you are a servant of God! I am very thankful to hear that God is answering my prayers for you, too! I love you, Mom
