That is a big promise! That is exciting too! Our Creator listens to us and we can talk with Him! That’s cool! I would like to offer a prayer today that comes from the Bible. It is most definitely in God’s will to answer this prayer, and it is an awesome prayer to pray!
First, here is that section of Scripture from 1 John that talks about God hearing us:
“I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life. This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us–whatever we ask–we know that we have what we asked of him.”
1 John 5:13-15
So, believers in Jesus Christ can ask God anything according to His Will and He will hear us and we will have what we asked for! Awesome! Remember, that part about His will is very important. God is not a genie to make wishes to. It might not be in His will to give you a million bucks. He is the Almighty I AM, He loves us, and He hears and answers our prayers in accordance with His will. He is always working for our good!
I was reading Philippians this morning and in the very first chapter the Apostle Paul pens a beautiful prayer that is definitely something we can pray in accordance with God’s will! And if we pray this, then we know that He hears us and that we will have what we asked of him! Amen!
“And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless until the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ–to the glory and praise of God.”
Philippians 1:9-11
In the Name of Jesus, Amen! May the Lord answer that for all of us and empower us in the Holy Spirit to be filled with the fruit of righteousness through Jesus Christ!
Praise God!
Grace and peace to you all!
Thank you, Ryan! I am praying this for all of us with you today! God bless you greatly!

Always working for our good. That is key, but sometimes the hardest thing to remember. He always answers, but sometimes the Answer is No. But, being His child I have to keep in mind. He is a good father, an infinitely better father than I am, and I want my kid to have everything for her good. How much more does he. Good post as always.

So true! There have been times I have thanked God that He didn’t give me what I thought I wanted. Amen!

men! It is a good thing we don’t what we want, and even better we don’t get what we deserve.

Amen! This is very good!! And, that is an awesome prayer to pray for all of us, as Lynn has said.
I know you probably don’t know the answer to this, but I was wondering what you think about this in relation to the prayer “according to his will” and us knowing that we have what we ask of him.
Many people, myself included, have unsaved loved ones we have been praying for for many years. We know scripture teaches that God is not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. But, we also know that not everyone turns their hearts to Jesus Christ, and that many do perish. We know that Paul certainly prayed for his fellow Jews, and yet many of them died without knowing Christ.
So, praying for the salvation of others is certainly praying according to God’s will, but does that mean that everyone we pray for will then be saved?
Just picking your brain and seeing what you believe about this or what God may have shown you. For, I know everyone will not have faith, and that many will perish even though they have been shown the way to God, because men love darkness rather than light because their deeds are evil.

That is a deep question Sue. Only God knows people’s hearts. I know He does not want them to perish and prayers for the lost are prayers He wants to answer. We should always pray for them to know the Lord and help them any way we can. I hope that helps. God bless you!

Such a helpful reminder, and what a beautiful and hopeful prayer, too, Ryan. “He hears and answers our prayers in accordance with His will” is something I know, but often forget when I pray to God. Thank you for your post and prayer for all of us! Amen!
