Well, we made it through the big blizzard yesterday and last night. I have been shoveling snow for the last three hours, so I am going to post a few pictures, go eat lunch, then I am going to sit down and get my chill on. My son helped me the whole time and he never complained once. Thank you son! You did a great job!
Our neighbors (right next door to us to the left in the photo above) just moved here from Texas and the wife got stuck backing out. I said, “Uh oh, looks like she’s stuck, let’s go help.” My son said, “Yes! I’ve always wanted to do this!” He was so excited to help dig her car out of the snow that he ran over to her. We got her out too and my son was so excited and proud. He got under those back tires like a little gopher and dug them out! That was a lot of fun!
That is our street looking east. The ruts in the road are huge.
Those are the little sidewalk plows the low maintenance homes across the street benefit from. We have to shovel the portion of sidewalk in front of our homes on our side because we have single family houses with driveways. I would love to own one of those plows–so nice!
We got well over a foot of snow. It snowed from early yesterday morning and didn’t stop until late last night. It was definitely the biggest storm we have had in a long time.
We started shoveling around 9 a.m. and stopped at noon. You can see our footprints where we ran over to help our neighbor. The snow was thick, wet, and heavy. I call it heart attack snow. A lot of older guys have heart attacks when trying to shovel snow like this. It’s best to go slow and remember, use your legs not your back.
And that’s how we get it done here in Colorado! All the way to the street! I am actually really encouraged because I just did three hours of hard cardio and I feel great! I’m tired of course and I need to rest now, but my heart and lungs are strong despite Celiac. My son and I prayed before we started and we committed the work to the Lord. We asked for strength and I even asked the Lord to have angels help us lift the heavy snow. I didn’t see any angels, but the work was smooth and efficient and we were strengthened for the task. Maybe we did receive some help with the lifting too. Many times they help us without us even knowing it. Anything is possible with God!
“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men..”
Colossians 3:23
I quoted that verse to my son before we started shoveling and he just smiled and nodded. He knew who he was serving and he was happy to do it. Praise God!
Grace and peace to you all!
P.S.
I will be reading all your blogs soon. Just need to eat first! God bless you all!
Sounds like you and your son put in a hard days work Ryan. On the plus side everything looks so clean and crisp and the blue sky.

Thanks brother! Sorry for the late reply. For some reason it put your comment about the storm you had in my spam folder. I fixed it. That was a big storm you had to hear trees snapping. I hope we don’t have any more blizzards this year. God bless!

Thankfully our power didn’t go out, but our internet was down all day. I have a back up solar generator if the power goes out.

Your welcome brother God bless you too. I hope you guys don’t get more blizzards and they say there’s global warming.

Yeah, they love talking about “global warming,” which doesn’t exist and is really a huge carbon tax scheme and the backbone of Agenda 21, which is a devious plan to dominate the whole world. Al Gore said the polar ice caps would be melted in 10 years. They actually grew by 50%. Climate change or global warming as they call it is a big lie. Life on earth needs carbon dioxide to survive. When did they forget the symbiotic relationship between plants and oxygen breathing creatures like us? Somebody needs to remind them that we breathe oxygen and exhale carbon dioxide. Plants inhale our carbon dioxide and exhale oxygen. If people listen to the sickening TED talks about “zero population growth,” they will learn that their true goal is depopulation and that their desire is to kill billions of people, so the numbers that are left are easier to control. I could go deeper down the rabbit hole that is the New World Order who are building the evil one’s one world government, but I will stop there. I’m with you, global warming is a lie and it’s roots are extremely sinister. God bless brother!

Yes but won’t the real global warming be either during or after the Tribulation when God makes all things new.

The Tribulation will be a terrible time to be on earth for people. Praise God for the Rapture! I pray the Lord spreads revival, so more and more people can be saved.

Thanks! He is only 8, but he is a big help. I have a few nicknames for him: biggie son or big man or just bigs for short. He didn’t like it when people called him little man when he was a toddler, so that is where the nicknames came from. He is a tough kid who loves the Lord and he isn’t afraid to work hard. I am a blessed man to have him and I’m very thankful. My son’s real name originates from Hebrew and means “son of the right hand.” His name is true. He is my right hand man and he always wants to help. 🙂 God bless!

Good job there Ryan, looks like you have a great son there! We only got 4 inches of snow here today, but it was wet and heavy and I just couldn’t move it at all. Guess it will have to melt this time, I didn’t want to end up in the hospital! God bless!

Oddly enough our late winter, early spring storms come from Colorado!

That’s interesting. Sounds like our climates our very similar. I read that those big dock spiders up there are closely related to our wolf spiders too. I’ve never been to Canada, but always wanted to visit. Grew up watching a lot of hockey and I loved singing your national anthem. Great song! 🙂 God bless!

Thanks Michelle! That sounds great, I can’t wait for warm weather! Can’t wait for our vacation to Cali in July. I would live in Cali in a heartbeat if the taxes weren’t so crazy high. 935 square foot homes in Burbank go for $400K–just craziness. I love Colorado and this is a cool place to live like Cali, but palm trees and sunshine sounds real good to me for the rest of my life. 🙂 Plus I could preach to all the hurting people out there. My wife isn’t having it though–she hates it when I talk about living in Cali and tells me only if I win the lotto (which I don’t play). 🙂 God bless!

With all that snow to shovel, I believe that you did get some help from those angels that God provided, giving you the strength to lift and to still be okay after you finished.🙏🏽🙏🏽 You are blessed.

Ryan, I enjoyed the excitement that your son felt in helping you and the woman next door. I haven’t experienced such a blizzard for a few years now. Central Ohio’s winters are whimps compared to yours.

Thank you. Yeah, he was pumped! 🙂 We have had a rough winter. Last winter we had hardly any snow, so we had a drought in the summer. This year we got hammered. The Rockies bring crazy weather at times. Hopefully all the moisture will prevent the mountain forest fires we get. God bless!
