Life Update 2022

Hello, friends and family, and God bless you all! I’ve been wanting to write this update post all month, but I am adjusting to my new schedule, and our family was sick for a couple weeks, which made it difficult to write. We are all better now, and I’m flowing with my new routine pretty good, so here I am.

This post is a huge praise report as I can joyfully share that the Lord has blessed me with a great job! I actually got hired at the end of January and my first day was January 31st. I worked that week, then our daughter ended up getting really sick. I had to take off the next week to help her, then I caught what she had, and missed several days the next week too. After that, our son and my wife both got sick too. It was awful, but everyone is healthy now. Thankfully, my employer was very understanding.

The first week I worked, my boss promoted me to a different position, so I started training for that job that Friday February 4th. I finished and passed my certification the following Monday, and I was all set to perform my duties, then the illness started with our daughter Tuesday morning. I finally went back to work last week, so I’ve worked my new position for 3 days last week, plus today. Now you know why I haven’t been able to write, and I wasn’t as consistent in reading everyone’s posts.

I’m working for a healthcare company as a certified health coach helping people manage diabetes. The company provides high tech blood glucose testing equipment and one-on-one personalized service to help people with diabetes live healthier lives. It is an excellent opportunity, and it’s a blessing being able to help people every day. It’s also very close to our home, and the owners allow a flexible schedule, so I can still pick up our kids from school.

I was originally going to work Monday through Friday, but we just found out today that we need to work one weekend day every weekend now. The company is young and growing, and I’m staying flexible as things change. My blogging schedule might be different for awhile and you might not see me as much on your blogs, but I’m still here and I still care.

Please pray for my strength and health as I am still dealing with Celiac and all the related struggles and issues that causes. So far I’ve dealt with some pain and fatigue, but overall I’m hanging in there. I’m definitely thankful the Lord has given me the strength to make it this far, and I’m just taking it one day at a time. I truly hope and pray I will be able to continue working full time. It has been a prayer of mine for the last 10 years since being diagnosed with Celiac.

Many of you might remember that I got hired with a different company last year, but I ended up having to resign that position due to ongoing health issues. I am very thankful I haven’t had to do that this time around. The Lord is so good, and He has blessed me with an even better job than last time. I am giving it my all, and I pray I will honor and please Him in it. One verse I keep in my heart regarding work is Colossians 3:23, which says:

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men.”

Despite my health issues, my prayer is that I will be able to work my new position with all my heart and glorify the Lord in it. It is such a great blessing to be able to provide for my family again! Thank You, Jesus!

Thank you all for your continued prayers and encouragement. I truly appreciate all of you, and my heart and prayers are always with you. Remember, never give up hoping and believing! Nothing is impossible for God, and He can make all things new!

Grace and peace to you all!

  3. So glad to hear Ryan, these health issues can weight you down so I am thankful you are getting some relief. My wife has recently been diagnosed with dementia and her symptoms tear at the heart, plus disks in her back that cannot be fixed caused her loss of mobility without a walker this last year, in addition to considerable pain and discomfort. Yet the Lord sustains us and I marvel at His unwarranted grace. Like you said Ryan, one day at a time. You and yours are definitely in my prayers. Blessings brother.

  4. Ryan, I’m so happy to know that all of you are over that awful sickness that struck so many times. And with your Celiac, what layers you continue to conquer! Congratulations on the position. It sounds rewarding! Diabetes is one of my health “layers”; however, I maintain a good A1C with exercise and healthy eating (I have to with my other issues!). I understand your busy life will limit your writing. Know this: even if I don’t “see” you or am able to get to your blog know that I continue praying for you and your precious family. I’m in a similar position. I try to post once a week and read as often as possible. But my book promotion is allowing school visits once again! And I spend at least 3 days a week marketing and working on the next one. To God be the glory! The most important is the time I’m spending with the special needs adults. That’s what touches my heart the most. God be with you, brother. And your entire family!

  5. I have to say first off that your news of getting the job and starting on the 31st was the best birthday gift I had received in a long, long time…if not ever because God answered my prayer for you, Ryan! “Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.” – Jeremiah 29:12 I am so happy for you and feel this opportunity will bring so many blessings your way. I continue to pray for your strength and health and happiness, and this includes for your family…I love you all so much. For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you. ISAIAH 41:13 God does make things new. Praise God. Have a great day at work and and congratulations! Love, Mom

  6. “God Will Make A Way” (Don Moen)

    God will make a way
Where there seems to be no way
He works in ways we cannot see
He will make a way for me
    He will be my guide
Hold me closely to His side
With love and strength for each new day
He will make a way, He will make a way

    God will make a way
Where there seems to be no way
He works in ways we cannot see
He will make a way for me
    He will be my guide
Hold me closely to His side
With love and strength for each new day
He will make a way, He will make a way

By a roadway in the wilderness, He’ll lead me
And rivers in the desert will I see
    Heaven and Earth will fade
But His Word will still remain
He will do something new today

    God will make a way
Where there seems to be no way
He works in ways we cannot see
He will make a way for me
    He will be my guide
Hold me closely to His side
With love and strength for each new day
He will make a way, He will make a way

Oh, God will make a way
Where there seems to be no way
He works in ways we cannot see
He will make a way for me
    He will be my guide
Hold me closely to His side
With love and strength for each new day
He will make a way, He will make a way

With love and strength for each new day
He will make a way, He will make a way.

  14. Hey Ryan, really miss reading your posts so I wanted to check in but I see from the last few messages things haven’t gotten better. I’m still praying for you all. Would writing, maybe even poetry, something like the psalms help? You know you have a blogging world full of encouragement here.

    1. Thanks, Alicia. I appreciate your prayers. I have been praying about writing again. I’ve tried several times, but I’m just finding it really hard to write. Not much makes sense in my life anymore. Being with my kids is the only thing that helps. It would be good to talk with all my friends here on WordPress again. Hopefully I can come back soon. Thanks for your encouragement. It’s always good to hear from you.

      1. I will definitely be praying God’s direction and that the timing is right, also for discernment in where and how and what to start writing about.
Praying strength, peace and vision over all that God has in store.

    1. Thank you. Some days I feel like things are getting better, but most days I am struggling with heartache. The Lord has comforted me and my kids, but the whole thing is just so painful. It’s been very hard. Thank you for your prayers.

  15. Hi Ryan – I’m sorry to hear about your troubles.
I just stumbled onto your blog and clicked on “Lord have Mercy”. It sounds like your celiac disease is really bad. Have you ever tried the carnivore diet? It helps so many people with auto immune issues.
Look into it. Watch Dr. Berg on youtube. Also be sure to eat as organic as you can afford. As the pesticide Glphosate is very hard on the intestines .
I wish you luck and will keep you in my prayers. I hope you are doing better.

    1. Thank you, Sue. I appreciate your prayers. Thanks for the information. Yes, I have been eating organic, Gluten-free, and Non-GMO for the last 11 years. It has been a long road of suffering at times, but my health has been much better. My heartache due to the divorce is what I am struggling with the most now. The Lord is faithful, and I know He can do all things, so I just keep praying and trusting in Him. Blessings to you.

    1. Thank you for the prayers & encouragement! Great hearing from you. It has been a very painful journey, and the last almost 2 years since the divorce has been full of heartache. I’m still struggling with the hurt & loneliness, but doing my best to keep moving forward with the Lord. My kids are doing good. Time is going so fast. I bought a house recently, which was a blessing. We are just taking one day at a time. Blessings to you & your family.

      1. Glad to hear that god blessed you with a new home. The Word lets us know that we will face tribulation, but Jesus promises that in time we will overcome via His Spirit who dwells within us. Keep holding on to the Lord’s hand.
