Tomorrow is Thanksgiving Day here in America. We have been enjoying spending time together on our Thanksgiving break this week. It has been a rough year for many of us around the world, but there are still so many blessings to be thankful for. Thanksgiving is a time to acknowledge those blessings and give thanks to God who graciously blesses us with them. May we all remember the goodness of God this year, and give Him the gratitude and praise He deserves.
The photo above was taken by my Mom at our old house in Colorado. We have a different kind of turkey down here in Florida known as Osceola Turkeys. There were a couple in our backyard in July. They are big funny birds, and we see them all the time in our neighborhood.
Since today is Thanksgiving Eve, we have been spending the day cooking and preparing for tomorrow. My wife is making her famous homemade cinnamon rolls, and we will be making cookies soon too. There are wonderful scents of cinnamon, brown sugar, and maple syrup in the air, and we are all looking forward to enjoying those delicious rolls. My wife says they are more like sticky buns because of the special glaze she cooks them in, so I suppose they should be called sticky cinnamon rolls. They sure are good, no matter what you call them.
God has been so good to us this year. He has given us victory over health challenges, and seen us through many trials and troubles. He is so very faithful, merciful, loving, and forgiving, and we give Him praise!
“Praise the LORD, O my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name.” -Psalm 103:1
“Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever.” -Psalm 107:1
“So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.” -Colossians 2:6-7
I know many of you are suffering and are in the midst of serious trials right now. Our hearts and prayers are with you all. Let us not forget our brothers and sisters who need our support and prayers. Please pray for our good friend and sister in Christ, Vivian. Her husband Mark has been battling brain cancer for many months now. Please pray for them and their four children. Vivian has specifically asked for prayers for peace. We know God can do all things, and He can heal and perform miracles at anytime. Please lift up their family to the Lord.

As we go through hard times, may the promises in God’s Word encourage and refresh our hearts, and may the peace and comfort of the Lord be with us. The Lord will never leave us nor forsake us. He will be with us always to the very end, just as He promised.
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” -Philippians 4:6-7
“Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going.” -Jesus speaking in John 14:1-4
Count your blessings this Thanksgiving, give thanks to the Lord, and love each other deeply from the heart. From our family to yours, have a very blessed and Happy Thanksgiving!
Grace and peace to you all!
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family, also, Ryan! Enjoy those cinnamon rolls.

Happy Thanksgiving, my American brother! Yes, a difficult year indeed; but God! Though, I lost my daughter, in March, my younger brother in July, and almost lost my wife in January. His love is still faithful, and I will forever give thanks! Vivian, and husband, are on my prayer list, and in my heart!

Isn’t Thanksgiving Day a lovely one?! A favorite and celebrated holiday set aside to give thanks to God for all the blessings he bestows upon us. “Thank you God, for your love.” Amen. “Happy Thanksgiving, Ryan, to you and my daughter-in-law and grandkids!” I sure wish we were all together, but we certainly are in our hearts! Talk to you soon. I love you all. Thank you for this beautiful Thanksgiving post and wishes, too.

Happy Thanksgiving Weekend brother. One question- Did the turkey in your backyard end up on your plate? 🙂
LikeLiked by 1 person
Thanks. 😊 No, he is still running around out there somewhere. We had a small organic turkey from the local natural foods store. There are people who hunt those Osceola Turkeys though. Not sure I would want to eat one though. Definitely a different looking turkey. 😊🦃 Have a blessed weekend!

Thank you for sharing this post on the thankfulness we share not only on Thanksgiving, but on an ongoing basis through Christ! We had an awesome Thanksgiving as all three of our girls and their husbands were together here in LA to not only celebrate Thanksgiving, but our granddaughters 5th birthday and the announcement from our youngest daughter that her and her husband were expecting their first child…a boy due in June!! We are very thankful for all His blessings!! My best to you and your family!! God Bless!!

I know you had a great Thanksgiving Ryan. Those rolls looks delicious 😋. Your wife is a great cook. Indeed, we have to give God thanks for taking us through this year in spite of the difficult times. Many people have lost loved ones and many people are going through difficult times similar to your friend and so we definitely have to keep them in prayers. My heart goes out to them. I can empathize with them because I have been through difficult times in the midst of the holiday. May the God of peace and miracles reach out to Vivian and everyone who is suffering at this time. God bless you my friend for caring and loving others.

I just read your post with the news about your Dad. Now I know why the Lord put you all on my heart last night to pray for your family. It’s comforting to know your Dad loved the Lord, and He is in perfect peace in Heaven. Praying the Lord comforts you all. Grace and peace to you and your family, brother.

Thanks. Although it wasn’t unexpected (he’d been slowly losing the battle with stage 4 cancer), it still came as a gut punch. But it’s quite comforting knowing that he’s in the right place for eternity.

Tell them I thank them. It’s become a more stressful time than it needs to be as at least one of Dad’s relatives is now spreading spreading lies about my Mum and us, blaming us for the circumstances of Dad’s death (along with one or two viler accusations that I won’t mention). Racheal’s had to block all communication from that relative. And I’m pretty sure that some of the other relatives think the same thing.

That’s awful. I pray those false accusations stop.
