Leaning On Jesus

Hello friends and family, and God bless you all. It has been awhile since my last blog post because we have been busy moving into our new home. It has been bittersweet due to a challenging trial regarding my wife’s job, but we are standing strong in Jesus, and leaning on Him fully as we put our trust in Him to see us through this. Although this trouble has been very hurtful and discouraging to our family, we trust that God is in control and He will never leave us nor forsake us. We are thankful to be in our new home in our new town, and we pray for the Lord’s will to be done.

I cannot give details at this time, but I can say my wife has experienced false accusations, persecution, and discrimination, and we are dealing with the fallout from all of it. All we can do is trust in the Lord and lean on Him and His understanding. The Lord has a purpose in all of this, and we know He will help us and bless us.

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.” -Proverbs 3:5-6

The photo above was taken in our new neighborhood near the community pool. The Lord spoke that verse from Proverbs to my heart as the sun was setting. The storm is raging all around us and my heart felt broken, but the Lord spoke a word of calm and comfort through the turmoil. He is with us, He is in control, and He will make our paths straight.

Thank you for praying for us. Our family needs to be lifted up to Jesus. May His will be done and may His Name be glorified in our lives.

Grace and peace to you all.

  1. Oh Ryan, your decision to stand strong and trust God in the midst of this trial has indeed brought glory to God. In the powerful, precious name of Jesus Christ, I ask that the Holy Spirit minister to both Ryan Callahan and his entire family. Give them peace, as You open doors that no man can shut. AMEN

  2. The Lord sending Proverbs 3:5-6 to you at a time you were hurting and feeling so broken hearted, must have given you such comfort, Ryan…how Jesus loves you and those who seek him! How he wishes to take our burdens from us and replace them with calm and certainty in our lives. You are right, Ryan, God is working to straighten the path and is in control. Amen. When we are going through a storm, we need to ask Jesus, the Light of the World, to help us look behind the clouds to see His glory and His plans for us. Remember, behind the clouds the sun still shines and God is still present!
I am praying, Ryan, that you both feel God’s strength and have peace in knowing He is with you always during this hard time. I pray God answers our prayers quickly and blessings of joy fill your home! Love you very much, Mom

    1. Thank you, Vanessa! We moved from Colorado last July. My wife and kids love it here. I like it too, but I have had a harder time adjusting and have been dealing with homesickness a lot. I lived in Colorado for 34 years of my 42 on earth, so it’s just taking some time for me. I do appreciate how friendly most people are down here, and the beaches sure are beautiful. There are also a lot of people who are more open about loving the Lord, which is awesome. I am praying to feel more at home here and that the Lord heals my homesickness and gives me peace. Thanks for the warm welcome! God bless!

  3. Will be praying for you and your family Ryan. We know our Lord is Sovereign and in total control. Most times we don’t understand His ways but we grow to trust Him believing by faith that He is working all things together for good for those that love Him and are called for His purpose. The Apostle Paul reminds us in the book of Acts that we must suffer many tribulations to enter the Kingdom of God.
Be encouraged Ryan God is your exceeding great reward.

  5. I pray the Lord leads your way to a place of peace, Ryan. These are certainly challenging times when most are overly sensitive and conflict is widespread. Forgiveness is, as it’s always been in this world, based on worldly notions of merit.

It’s a trial by fire when only the Lord can give us the right words to say.

These are times when I am learning to reflect about what I want to do or say for days or even weeks/months. And often times it is the Lord that “resolves” whatever situation I’m trying to work on. I’m learning to let things happen instead of “managing” them.

The truth is we live life trying to be on top of things, but we only get in his way. It’s important to identify his ways. It’s not about good/bad, but the peace in our hearts that only he gives.

  8. Ryan, you and your family are in my prayers. In this world we will face tribulation and persecution, but Jesus has overcome the world; And because His Spirit lives within you and your wife, your family will overcome whatever this situation is.

Praise God for the greater One living within us.

  9. Psalm 126 1 When the LORD shall bring again the captivity of Zion, we shall be as those who dream. 2 Then shall our mouth be filled with laughter, And our tongue shall be full of praise; Then shall they say among the nations: Great things hath the LORD done for these. 3 The LORD has done great things for us; we will rejoice. 4 Bring back our captivity, O Jehovah, Like the streams of the Negev. 5 They that sow in tears shall reap with rejoicing. 6 He that beareth precious seed shall go weeping and mourning; But he shall come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves.
God did it again, and will do it again and again, note verse 5. So whatever happens my brother, God’s people will not be ashamed. Keep on going you and your family, everything will be…..

      1. Amen brother Ryan, thanks to you. In my heart God has put a word, God did it again. Oh brother Ryan but for God’s mercy what would become of our lives. If there is a reason to live and if life has meaning it is because of the Lord Jesus Christ it is because of God and our heart will always be grateful to Him…..

      2. Psalms 91 14 Because he hath set his love upon me, I also will deliver him; I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. 15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and glorify him. 16 I will satisfy him with long life, And I will show him my salvation.
