Dear Atheist

Good morning everyone and God bless you all as we begin December 2019!  I have been up since 5 a.m. reading blogs and chatting with friends here on WordPress.  One of the blogs I read this morning is written by an atheist.  She talked about atheist “nontracts” that she said were similar to the Gospel tracts Christians use to evangelize at times.  She discussed the contents of the atheist informational tracts and one of them was called, “Dear Christian.”  It is a tract that is supposed to challenge the Christian’s beliefs and “open” the Christian’s mind to “free thinking.”  I found it very interesting, but there is just one thing, man’s philosophy cannot answer the truth of the spiritual realm that is found in God’s Word.  No amount of philosophy will ever change what I have lived through!

I have posted comments to the atheist’s blog in the past, but she never approves my comments or responds.  I am assuming that is because she has no answer and my testimony really freaks her out.  What do you do when you are an atheist who encounters a guy who used to be an atheist, but he isn’t anymore because of the intense spiritual events he lived through?  What do you do when that guy preaches the Gospel to you and tells you all about the spiritual events he lived through?  What happens is you are confronted with the truth and you have a choice to make.  You can dismiss what I tell you and think I’m crazy and ignore me, but the fact remains that these events happened to me and my family whether you believe it or not.  What is crazy is fighting God with your mind as you try to act more intelligent than God with your human philosophy.  Man’s philosophy leads to spiritual bondage, not freedom.

“It is for freedom that Christ has set us free.  Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.”

Galatians 5:1

Man’s philosophy is slave thinking, not free thinking.  Here is the comment I left under the atheist blogger’s post.  She did not post my comment on her blog and she did not respond.  This could be called, “Dear Atheist.”

Interesting.  I used to hate God and I hated Christians.  Let me ask you this, what happens when all your philosophy gets blown away when God opens your eyes to the spiritual realm?  When I was in 8th grade (back in 1991), we moved into a house that we soon found out was possessed by a demon.  We suffered poltergeist torment the entire 4 years I was in High School and it changed our lives forever.  Lights going on and off at random, our dog getting kicked out of thin air, my sister waking up one night to a dark figure standing in the corner of her room, it made a breathing noise in my left ear, took clothes out of my parent’s closet and laid them over my Dad while he slept, crayon marks all over the walls and high ceilings, it knocked framed art off the walls, it lit a candle in my sister’s room, and many other terrifying things it did to us…for the entire 4 years.

I ended up coming to Jesus my freshman year in college at the age of 18 (1996) and I went home that Christmas break and rebuked the demon out of our house in the Name of Jesus.  I have been following Jesus and preaching the Gospel ever since. Philosophy is an endless circle of dialogue that never gets anywhere and won’t save your soul.  We all need a Savior and His Name is Jesus.  I didn’t want to believe it either and I used to get real mad whenever Christians would preach to me.  Living in a haunted house and being terrorized night and day for 4 years changed all that.

My life continued to be supernatural after I accepted Christ and in the summer of 1998 I had two encounters with angels in Denver.  14 years later in 2012 I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease.  I ate a sandwich on oat bread on 4-28-2012 and went into anaphylaxis for the first time in my life.  The torturous pain lasted all day and that night I went into anaphylactic shock and stopped breathing.  I died for a short time, left my body, and I was with Jesus.  I did not see Him, but He walked over to me and said, “It’s okay.”  I was at perfect peace and there was absolutely no pain.  I came back in my body in the powerful wind of the Holy Spirit and my wife witnessed the entire miraculous event as she was praying over my body.

I am 41 now and I have been following Jesus and preaching the Gospel for 23 years now.  All I can tell you is Heaven and hell are real and people better make the right choice.  God and His angels are very real and so are Satan and his demons. Your philosophy does not hold up to the Truth of God’s Word and it never will.  Maybe someday He will have to show you the spiritual realm and prove it to you like He did for me.

I published my testimony on Amazon.  It’s called, “One Man’s Very Strange Supernatural Life.”  If you would like a free copy of my eBook, please contact me and I will send you one directly from Amazon.

God bless you,

Ryan Callahan

You could be an atheist philosopher and talk in circles until you are blue in the face, and nothing you say would ever change the Truth God has revealed to me!  I hated God, Christians, and the Bible, until God showed me it was all true.  I am a living testimony and witness that God exists, Jesus exists, the Holy Spirit exists, and so do angels, demons, Heaven, and hell, and no amount of atheist questioning is ever going to change that Truth!  I am free in Jesus and I give Him praise for saving my soul!

We are all sinful and we all need a Savior.  You can try and fight it and hate God, but you will lose in the end.  I often wonder if I would have accepted Jesus had I never lived in that house in High School.  I don’t know, but it definitely sent me running to Him much faster!

“for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.”

Romans 3:23-24

The philosophy of man is just an endless circle of questions that are never answered.  It goes on and on with no definitive answers because it is man’s attempt to understand himself without our Creator and it will fail every time.  It is man’s attempt to define right and wrong without addressing the problem of sin, and it will fail every time.  It is man’s attempt to find meaning in life without believing in and loving God, and it will fail miserably every time.  We were created to be known and loved by God, but sin corrupted our flesh.  We cannot understand ourselves, what is right or wrong, or find true meaning in life without God!  Without God we are lost, poor, weak, naked, and blind.  Every atheist will find that out when they take their last breath.

“You say, ‘I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.’  But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked.”

Jesus speaking in Revelation 3:17

Jesus Christ is alive and I am a living testimony of that Great Truth!  He has rebuked a demon through me, He has shown me His mighty angels, He was right there with me when I died in 2012, and He put me back in my body and brought me back to life by the power of the Holy Spirit!  We receive His salvation by faith and I pray in His Holy Name that everyone would accept Jesus before it is too late!

“That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”

Romans 10:9

“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Romans 6:23

“Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.”

Acts 4:12

Jesus loves you!  Jesus died for you to forgive your sins and set you free from sin and death!  I am warning you that without faith in Jesus, you will die in your sins and pay for them yourself in eternity!  Receive Jesus by faith and you will be forgiven and receive eternal life!

Grace and peace to you all!

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish, but have eternal life.  For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.  Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.”

Jesus speaking in John 3:16-18

“I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life.”

Jesus speaking in John 5:24

“For my Father’s will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.”

Jesus speaking in John 6:40

  1. Ryan, what a powerful testimony! Did your parents/family come to know the Lord as well? Thank you for sharing your experience – according to the Bible, this truly is how we overcome: by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of our testimony. Blessings!

  2. I was reading Corinthians this morning. When the Lord calls us and we accept him, these words strike us as clear as water, but they sound foolish to the ones who haven’t been called yet or accepted Him (as was also my case for 15 years of official atheist and another 18 of not knowing who God was thanks to a blinding religion):

18 The message of the cross is foolish to those who are headed for destruction! But we who are being saved know it is the very power of God. 19 As the Scriptures say,

“I will destroy the wisdom of the wise
and discard the intelligence of the intelligent.”

20 So where does this leave the philosophers, the scholars, and the world’s brilliant debaters? God has made the wisdom of this world look foolish. 21 Since God in his wisdom saw to it that the world would never know him through human wisdom, he has used our foolish preaching to save those who believe. 22 It is foolish to the Jews, who ask for signs from heaven. And it is foolish to the Greeks, who seek human wisdom. 23 So when we preach that Christ was crucified, the Jews are offended and the Gentiles say it’s all nonsense.

24 But to those called by God to salvation, both Jews and Gentiles,[f] Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God. 25 This foolish plan of God is wiser than the wisest of human plans, and God’s weakness is stronger than the greatest of human strength.

  3. I do pray any atheist who reads your strong testimony will have a change of heart and will be blessed with God’s light! Your words are spoken with a deep understanding, Ryan, and God’s truth. A man’s philosophy without God is just an endless circle. I do hope your message here puts a fire in their belly to seek Jesus, which will change their life forever and for eternity. Amen, Ryan. Jesus is our Savior, Praise God!

  4. I know, so very true, Ryan. When I was reading your list of things that went on with us, I found myself letting out a deep breath that I had been holding without realizing it, and then I recalled how frightened I was (a number of times) being awakened from the sound of a bouncing basket ball out in our drive way…a sound your Dad would also hear. Praise God for the power of the Holy Spirit he gave to us.!

  5. Those who don’t have the Holy Spirit have only their limited, finite minds to reason with. I was the same before I became a Christian and God gave me true understanding. And then it seemed I could ‘see’ everything! The lights were on for the first time in my life and I was amazed at all I saw. Everything made sense and I immediately knew that my theories of reincarnation, etc. were completely off-base and that the Bible truly was God’s word to a dying world.

But it was as impossible for me to be saved as it was for you and is for your atheist friend. I too hated anything to do with Christianity. I believed there was a God, but my idea of Him didn’t line up with the Bible. It wasn’t until God grabbed hold of me -apart from my will or desire- and began breaking down my defenses toward Him. And not one other person said a word to me about Jesus. It was 100% God working in my heart and life.

These people who say God won’t violate your free will are dead wrong. He violated my free will to save my soul from eternal hell and I am forever grateful. If you had a child that didn’t know any better and was insistent on pulling away from you into oncoming traffic, or off the side of a cliff, or putting something dangerous into its mouth… would you not violate that child’s free will, grip their hand tighter and steer them in another direction? Or would you let them go to their death in the name of free will?

I say this to say, God can reach her if He chooses, regardless of what she thinks she knows to be true. It may not be pretty, as in your case of supernatural demonic activity, but He is able and willing to do whatever it takes to reach those who belong to Him, regardless of what they think or believe. So don’t stop reaching out or praying for her until God tells you to stop. Who knows what He may have in store for her life?!

God bless you, brother. I hope you have a wonderful day in Christ.

  6. I had an atheist try to tell me that God knowing in advance what choices we will make and the consequences of them removes our free will, or another who thought that because some Biblical manuscripts have minor scribal errors, therefore the Scriptures can’t have been divinely inspired.
There is no reasoning with some.

  7. Hi, I am an atheist and I have an answer to one question you posed. “What do you do when you are an atheist who encounters a guy who used to be an atheist, but he isn’t anymore because of the intense spiritual events he lived through?”
My answer is simple, their personal testimony is not enough to convince me of their claim. If there is a god out there who revealed him/herself to this person, then that god has the power to reveal him/herself to me and should not expect me to believe based on someone else’s testimony. Surely any being worthy of the label ‘God’ should know that ‘personal revelation is strictly first-person, to anyone else its hearsay.’

    1. Hi Maxwell, good to meet you. Thank you for taking the time to answer. Yes, I have heard other atheists say that. All I can say is I pray God reveals Himself to you. But are you sure you want Him to reveal Himself in that way? Be very careful what you ask for brother. He might just have to show you just like He showed me. My personal testimony is not hearsay. It happened, whether you believe it or not. You can choose to dismiss it, but it’s the truth. My job is to tell the world in order to help people come to faith who haven’t had these experiences. God bless you.

      1. Personal testimony is, by definition, hearsay, my friend. It doesn’t mean you aren’t telling the truth – or certainly not what you believe to be the truth – but it is hearsay and it would be irresponsible for someone to believe it without further evidence.

      2. I am the evidence. Evidence of a life changed. I wouldn’t be out here preaching about Jesus if those things hadn’t happened. I would most likely still be drinking and ruining my life. There is plenty of evidence for Jesus, but God will always leave room for faith. The only 100% way you would know it’s true, is if you had lived in that house with the demon, but trust me, that is not evidence you want to live through. People will not be able to justify themselves before God and make excuses for rejecting Jesus. When it comes to your eternal soul I definitely recommend being responsible and seeking the truth regarding Christian testimonies and the evidence presented. God bless.

      3. Right, but the issue is whether or not I am justified in believing your testimony true – not just that YOU believe it, but that it’s accurate.

If I believed that your experiences are evidence of Jesus and Christianity, then I would necessarily have to simultaneously believe in Islam, based on the same type of testimony from some of their followers that they claim likewise ‘prove’ their religion. Same with Judaism, Hinduism, Mormonism, probably even Scientology, and probably every religion that has ever existed. Every religion has subjective ‘evidence’ claimed as proof in their followers minds, and none of it can be corroborated. So which are we justified in trusting?

Do you see why that’s a problem for atheists? I believe that you are being sincere and honest to the best of your knowledge, but why should we take your word for it that it’s accurate instead of simply what you perceived, when ostensibly every religion has followers who make the same exact claims as you to ‘prove’ their own beliefs, which contradict your own and vice versa? Not to mention the likely hundreds of thousands of examples throughout human history not involving any religion where people see/hear/feel things that are not there. Our sense fail us consistently. Many people have given up drinking or other vices based on perceived divine experiences via religions other than Christianity. Should I believe them, too? Why or why not? Many people give up vices for secular reasons as well. I’m sorry, Ryan – I don’t see it as proof of anything. Though, I’m glad your life has ostensibly improved. Good on you.

      4. I hear you. Like I said, God will always leave room for faith. My job is not to convince. It’s simply to share my testimony. We are only justified through faith in Jesus. Only Jesus can defeat demons. It was Jesus who was with me when I stopped breathing in 2012. Not Mohammed, not Buddha, not Krishna, not Joseph Smith, or any other false god. Just Jesus. Jesus is who rescued our family and it was Jesus who gave me my breath back and let me live.

      5. Oh, and to quickly respond to your ‘seeking the truth’ comment: I grew up Christian, have been baptized by my pastor grandmother, went to church, youth group, church camps, etc. I was ‘responsible’ when I felt overwhelming guilt for not being a ‘good Christian’ and having doubts, and therefore delving into research in order to come closer to God. I wanted so badly to assuage my doubts, but the more I searched, the less the Bible looked like truth. With all due respect, I’ll go ahead and be a bit conceited and say that I doubt anyone here, yourself included, have a greater reverence for the pursuit of truth than I. That’s like.. the primary focus of my research and writings – epistemology. 😀

      6. It’s good to ask questions. I pray the Lord reveals Himself to you in ways that are beyond our finite human understanding and philosophy. I had a friend in college who was wrestling God over some philosophical issues. We went to a retreat one weekend and he had an amazing encounter with the Holy Spirit that changed his life forever. God showed him His power and he was at peace after that. I wrote a post about it:

      7. I can respect that this is what you subjectively experienced. All I’m saying is that there are likely millions of Muslims, Mormons, Jews, Hindus, and all the rest currently alive who have had a near death/traumatic/divine experience and would claim that it was their own God/s, not your ‘false God’ as they’d say just as you did, who led them back to reality or out of poverty or drugs or whatever else was going on in their lives. That suggests that believing testimony such as yours without further evidence – letting it sway me in the slightest – is intellectually masochistic. No matter which religion/non-religion in the world is correct, most people are wrong, which means all of this proof and evidence that is constantly claimed necessarily leads away from truth more than it leads towards it. We must have a higher standard if we are to find the actual truth.

      8. None of those non Christians who had near death experiences were with Jesus when they died and they weren’t put back in their bodies in the wind of the Holy Spirit. You will only hear a testimony like mine from someone who believes in Jesus. Jesus is the proof! He is alive, brother, that’s all I can say.

        Like

      9. Okay, so why should I believe you when you say that, when Muslims would literally say the exact same thing about Islam/Allah? I HAVE heard testimony such as yours from non-Christians. They would say that you weren’t put back in your body with the grace of Allah or whatever and that you wouldn’t hear testimony such as theirs except by people who are Muslim.

This is exactly my point. Nearly all religions are the exact same with their claimed ‘proofs’. Why should I believe YOU when you have no more evidence than they do? When I can hear your same testimony almost word for word from hundreds of thousands of people representing thousands of mutually exclusive religions other than Christianity?

        Like

      10. No bro, again, you will not hear a testimony like mine word for word from a Muslim or any other religion. Only a believer in Jesus has such a testimony. You can make all the excuses you want for not accepting Christ. It’s not going to matter when you take your last breath and you stand before God. I’m just trying to help you make a more informed decision about your eternal soul. Believe what you want, but just remember there is only one Way to Heaven and that’s through Jesus. I’m glad God showed me the supernatural realm and did all these things for me. Maybe He will do the same for you. God bless.

      11. Again, this is only your personal subjective testimony that there is one way to heaven or that heaven even exists. It still comes back to whether I’m justified in believing you.

You have never answered my question. You wouldn’t be telling your story if you didn’t have the intent of convincing others, but why would I be justified in believing your story as accurate, and NOT the testimony of someone giving me the same story as support of THEIR God? Why should I trust your certainty when literally billions of other religions followers have just as much certainty as you, and likewise carry nothing but personal subjective testimony as evidence? They all think that their Gods have ‘proven’ themselves in their eyes just as much as you think the same of yours. You obviously think I should believe you because YOU believe you. But do you believe I would be *justified* in believing you, based only on this testimony you have given? If so, why am I not also justified in believing the other religions followers? This is not a trick question. I’m genuinely curious if you would claim my belief in you justified.

I want what I believe to be the actual truth. The only way to reliably do this is through evidence. It is no excuse to demand evidence for beliefs I might hold.

And for the record, I already sincerely accepted Jesus into my heart when I was a child. Nothing came of it. I grew up Christian, remember? And I desperately did not want to become an atheist at that time.

      12. I understand what you are saying. Again, that all comes down to faith. There would be no way to prove it unless you went through it yourself. All I can say is my family lived with a demon and we were delivered from it because of Jesus. I had 2 angel encounters in Denver in the summer of 1998, and I died for a short time in 2012, I was with Jesus, and then He put me back in my body in the wind of the Holy Spirit. You don’t consider that evidence. I don’t know what to tell you. It’s evidence, but you just don’t want to believe it. If you truly accepted Jesus by faith and proclaimed Him as Lord, then He is with you even now and He won’t give up on you. I pray the Lord brings peace to your questions.

      13. Man, you’re not hearing me. I know what you’re saying. It is evidence only to you. I would be irresponsible if I allowed evidence such as that to convince me of your position, just as you would agree that it would be irresponsible if I allowed the same exact testimony from a Muslim to convince me to believe Islam the truth, yes? What do you have that they don’t, from my point of view?

        Like

      14. I am hearing you, but I can’t answer questions that only God can answer and I can’t convince you. Only God can open your eyes and heart. All I can do is share my testimony. I will say this though, show me a Muslim that has the exact same testimony that I have. There is no Muslim or any other religion on earth that has the exact same testimony as me, bro. What do I have that they don’t? The power of Jesus Christ, that’s what. Has a Muslim told you that he died, was with Jesus, and Jesus put him back in his body by the Holy Spirit? No, you have never had a Muslim share that testimony with you. I get what you’re saying that a Muslim may have had some supernatural thing happen and share that with you as evidence of his faith. Again, it comes down to faith. Jesus is the only one to make the claims that He did and He is the only one to ever die for our sins and raise from the dead, and He was right there when I stopped breathing in 2012.

If you want evidence the Bible is true, read “The Exodus Case: New Discoveries of the Historical Exodus” by Dr. Lennart Moller. It is incredible what they found and the whole world should know.

      15. This essay you have linked has two problems, in relation to my believing you/Christians or not.

First, the chariot wheels appear to be a hoax.
        https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/chariot-wheels-found-bottom-red-sea/
        https://www.patheos.com/blogs/religionprof/2012/06/chariot-wheels-in-the-red-sea-hoax-persists.html

I hope you’ll forgive me, but I will go ahead and assume that you will simply claim these sites as biased and therefore brush off their entire argument. That is the typical response, though I will assert you would have no justification for doing so.

So we’ll go to number 2, which is that even if you’re correct and we have physical evidence of the exodus, why would anyone be justified in believing in Christianity because of this? We have the same problem as before. Other religious books also include in them real events that actually happened. That does not make evidence of those events an endorsement of the holy book or religion as a whole. Or, why wouldn’t I believe in Judaism instead of Christianity because of this alleged ‘evidence’ of events written of in the old testament?

In a similar vein, I believe that Jesus was probably a real person, but have seen no evidence that he was divine or had supernatural powers. If we prove Jesus was real, you still have the harder task ahead of you in proving he was divine and performed miracles. Why would I be justified to believe this story over similar non-credible evidence brought forth by Muslims or Hindus or Scientologists as evidence of their religions?

        Like

      16. Bro, my testimony proves Jesus is alive! The chariot wheels on the bottom of the Red Sea are not a hoax. It seems your issue is with faith in general. You remind me of Thomas. You need to stick your fingers in the nail holes in Jesus to believe. Not sure how to help you with that. My advice would be to not dismiss the evidence I have given you so quickly. Hope you find the answers you are looking for. Peace

      17. Bro, Muslim testimony proves that Allah is the one true God!

Do you see why that doesn’t work? Why I necessarily should not believe that? If I lower my standards for evidence and rationality as low as you are hoping I do and believe you, then I will believe literally everything I hear from others as well. What is your solution to that problem?

        Like

      18. I don’t have a solution to that problem and I don’t need one, you do. I lived with a demon for 4 years all through high school back in the early 90s, remember? Jesus has done amazing miracles in my life. I am 41 and I’ve been walking with Jesus for 23 years. Doesn’t matter whether you believe me or not. I know what happened in my life and your belief has no bearing on that. Like I said, believe what you want, bro.

        Like

      19. Your site motto says your helping people understand the Bible and come closer to Jesus. IF that is your goal, you do, in fact, need that solution. Not for everybody, of course, but I’m not trying to convince you of anything. You ARE trying to convince me of something – that your testimony is compelling evidence of the Christian God.

I realize you don’t have that solution, and I appreciate you admitting as much, but I will say that it should be alarming to you that you don’t have that solution, and even more so that you don’t seem to care.

        Like

      20. I care. That is why I’m out here sharing my testimony. As I said, there is no way to prove my testimony to you. You have heard my testimony, but you choose not to believe it. Again, I don’t need a solution to your faith problem. Jesus is your solution. I can’t make you believe.

My testimony is compelling evidence of God, whether you believe it or not. My site has helped thousands of people come closer to Jesus and understand the Bible. There is about 470 posts on my site and many of them are comprehensive Bible studies. If you would like to understand more about the Bible, please spend time on my site. Again, I have the solution for your soul and His Name is Jesus. I don’t need a solution for your faith problem. That is between you and God, so don’t put that on me and try to cop out with that too. I won’t be there when you stand before God for you to make excuses and blame me.

I have shared my testimony and I’ve done everything I can for the last 23 years to tell people and preach the Gospel. Some believe and some don’t. I have seen many get saved and been blessed to baptize several of them. What should be alarming to you is that you so easily dismiss a testimony like mine that proves that Jesus Christ is who He says He is and that the things the Bible says are real are actually real.

        Like

      21. Alright, I think we’ll call it a night, here. We’re making no progress.

You believe that I should not dismiss your testimony because you claim it proves your God, and yet you’d presumably claim that I’d not be justified in believing Patient 1 of this scientific study – a Hindu:

        https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4117086/

and their near death experiences where they saw their Gods. Why? Any time I try and get that answer out of you, you put the onus on me and claim my faith is broken. I think my faith is quite healthy, actually, and I know the Bible quite well. And according to studies, average atheists know the Bible better than the average theist in America.

You are the one making the claim. The onus is always on the one making the claim. If you cannot give me justification for why I should trust you, or any claim that anyone makes *except* the ones that YOU don’t agree with, which it seems is the case, then we’ll get nowhere. You should at least recognize, then, that it would be unjustified for me or anyone else to believe you at the very least, unless you bring more to the table.

Some of us aren’t as ‘lucky’ as you to have a God prove themselves to us, and yet every religion claims their religion is ‘proven’. I have no reason to believe you over anyone else. Nobody seems to know what the word ‘proven’ actually means.

In any case, it was nice speaking with you. I hope I didn’t come across as too conceited – I know I have that tendency.
        Cheers.

      22. Bro, I don’t have a picture of the demon or the angels. My wife wasn’t recording me on video as I stopped breathing, died, and came back. She was kneeling beside my body praying. What justification could I give you to trust me? You don’t even know me and I don’t know you. I’ve never met you. You could spend more time on my blog and get to know me. I will always reach out a hand in friendship. My duty is to God’s command to share my testimony and preach the Gospel and that is what I do. There is no way to convince you or prove what I went through. All I can do is share the truth of my testimony.

Good talking with you too. God bless.

      23. P.S. To answer your question about a Hindu or anyone else who supposedly saw their gods, my answer of course is that God proved Himself to me, so I know there is only one God. I believe what the Bible says, that all other gods are false gods. The Bible also tells us that demons masquerade and of course I also know that satan exists and the world religions are his doing to turn people away from Christ. But of course you will not agree with that, but that is my answer. Why? Because I know the Bible is true based off what I went through. Again, it comes down to faith. Have a good night.

      24. It isn’t that I ‘disagree’ with you – it’s that I don’t have justification to believe it. You could be correct, but I must not believe you if my loyalty is only to truth. Not with what I’ve been given.

For instance, what does your claim that what other people saw is Satan do for me? Could other religions not make the same claim of your testimony? What other religious followers see, they obviously believe with just as much certainty as you that what they saw is the truth. In which case, would you not agree that they are being biased when they assert with confidence that they KNOW they saw their God and that what you saw was a false God? Why shouldn’t I believe the same of you?

      25. I get what you’re saying. All I can say is Jesus is the only one to make the claims that He made. All the other world religions are about what you have to do to work your way to salvation. Christianity is about what God did for us. Jesus is God in human flesh and He died for us to forgive our sins and make the way to Heaven. No other religion on earth offers that. Forgiveness of sins can only be found through faith in Jesus. Definitely something to keep in mind in your search for the truth. God bless.

We can establish more trust by starting with your name. You know my name. I am out here in this violent world of hatred, sin, and death under my own real name. I am not hiding from anyone. I am on Twitter and published my testimony on Amazon under my own real name too. Also, I was thinking, you mentioned your Grandma. I’m sure she has prayed for you for many years. Maybe meeting me is an answer to one of her prayers. Something to ponder.

      27. Nor am I hiding from anyone. My name is Brent Wiseman. I don’t feel the need to attach my name to any of my ideas. If I were to compile some of my thoughts that I’m more proud of, perhaps I would exercise my vanity at that time, but I see no need to yet. It’s irrelevant for the time being.

Perhaps you are an answer to her prayers – she certainly has been making them since she found out I was atheist several years ago. But given the evidence, it is of equal likelihood that my falling out of Christianity is an answer to a Muslim or Hindu prayer for the ‘lost souls’ who believe an incorrect religion, as they would have (and still would) see me as. Maybe atheism was just the first step.

All I’m trying to convey to you is that it is not strange in the slightest that atheists demand evidence. If you don’t treat any religious claim with favoritism, they are all the exact same. None have more evidence than another. The only way to remain intellectually honest and not show bias is to accept no religious belief at all until further evidence is given. The only things that have good evidence with any of the various claims are benign, and don’t actually prove divinity or miracles, ie: the historicity of Jesus, the man.

      28. It’s okay to demand evidence, but then when evidence is presented, you dismiss it and tell me it’s not evidence even though my testimony is evidence. You just keep going around in circles like a philosopher with endless questions. It seems you would not accept anyone’s evidence from any religion.

        Like

      29. Personal testimony is technically evidence, sure, but only to YOU, and not even YOU should trust it, given the millions of examples of when our own senses fail us. It is not GOOD evidence. Other people certainly shouldn’t trust it, unless you have corroborating evidence. There is a reason personal testimony is not taken very seriously in court room settings.

I am not ‘like’ a philosopher going in circles with endless questions. I *am* one, I fully acknowledge. I have no problem with it.

The only other evidence you have provided outside of hearsay appears to be a hoax. You claimed that it is not, but without making a counterargument why you believed it wasn’t a hoax. It could, indeed, simply be bias that is motivating people to call it a hoax, but I have no reason to believe that at this time, and you have provided no evidence to show that I should. Again, I do not have justification for belief.

Provide me something other than hearsay, which is what your testimony is, or evidence that is not credible. I will look at it with an open mind. If it appears credible and has been verified, my beliefs will change.

      30. Like I said, you will not believe the evidence and like I said before, it all comes down to faith. My senses did not fail me. My entire family experienced the terror from living with that demon for 4 years. You atheists always say that. As if what we went through was a figment of 4 people’s collective imagination.😂 You are not looking for truth or evidence. You are looking for excuses.

        Like

      31. If you assert that I’m only looking for excuses when I suspend judgement of one family’s claims, then you must also think I would be justified in believing one Muslim family who all believe they had a collective experience that proves their religious beliefs. One Hindu family. The ancient Egyptian or Greek families who believed the same.

What you are asking of me is to not be logically consistent. The fact that I wish to remain consistent is no excuse, I assure you. We atheists are always asking for the same thing because we are never given good evidence, even while we are told we *should* believe in whatever religious claim being made by whatever religion. Provide us some credible evidence that we would be justified in believing, and we will cease.

      32. Bro, did a Hindu, Muslim, Egyptian, or Greek family live with a demon for 4 years that terrorized their entire family by doing things like turning lights on and off, kicking our dog, knocking pictures off the wall, lighting candles, making bouncing ball sounds at night? Or how about their little sister waking up to a dark figure standing in the corner of her room watching her? Or how about when it made a breathing noise in my ear like someone exhaling a breath right behind my ear? I’ve never heard a testimony like mine. You use philosophy as a cop out, bro. My testimony makes you uncomfortable and you don’t want to face the fact that Jesus is alive, Heaven and hell are real, angels and demons are real, and really at the end of the day, you just don’t want to repent. You want to justify your sin and yourself and no amount of philosophy will ever do that for you.

Like I said, you are like Thomas. You want Jesus to appear and you need to put your fingers in the holes in his nail pierced hands. That is the evidence you want. You want to live through what I lived through. I hope you get to see angels someday, but I pray for you that you never encounter a demon, ever. And hopefully you never go through anaphylactic shock and stop breathing either. The pain of anaphylaxis is torturous.

        Pray God blesses you.

      33. You’re making many assumptions of my motivations, so let me go ahead and explain to you what I actually want.

I want the maximum amount of wellbeing to the maximum amount of people. That is what I find to be the most moral position to take.

In pursuit of that goal, I find that the truth is the best way to achieve wellbeing. Historically, things are almost always bad when superstition, faith, believing what is comforting, etc, rules the actions of the people, compared to when people are being rational.

The surest way of finding truth is via evidence, and definitely not by believing a claim simply because the claim was made. You want me to arbitrarily believe you and any other Christian testimony, but arbitrarily reject similar testimony. You claim such testimony doesn’t exist. I presented you a verified, credible example of just that, and you move your goalposts to only include ghostly divine encounters. That is dishonest. Asserting without evidence that your testimony makes me uncomfortable is dishonest. Asserting I just want to continue my sinning is dishonest.

And based on the evidence, I don’t believe it rational to conclude a Hindu, Muslim, Egyptian, Greek, OR Christian family lived with demons because I’ve no reason to believe demons exist. I think the most likely scenario is that you’re only doing exactly what every other demographic in human history has done and jumped to wild conclusions based on benign causes that you didn’t understand, and subsequently invoked the supernatural without justification. I’ve flatly asked you why I should trust you, and you can’t give me a good reason.

There may be reasons I’m ignorant of to believe in God, but your testimony is not one. Sorry.

I have been very clear with my questions. ‘Why should I believe you and not others?’. You have only ducked the question.

      34. I have answered your questions specifically and straightforward, but you like to talk in circles. I have not been dishonest with you and I have given you evidence, but you do not accept it as evidence. That is not my problem that is your problem. My prayers are with you.

      35. P.S. Furthermore, I have presented the evidence of my testimony, but you call me delusional and a liar. You say my entire family, all four of us, jumped to “wild conclusions based on benign causes that you didn’t understand, and subsequently invoked the supernatural without justification.” No bro, you are not listening. You are an atheist skeptic and that is nothing new. There were no wild conclusions as you accuse and the terrifying things the demon did to us were not benign causes. We were completely justified in coming to Jesus and Jesus is the only One who rescued us. We tried to make the demon leave many times before and it would not. It only left when I commanded it to leave in the Name of Jesus. You keep talking about a reason to trust me and I have already covered that. You don’t know me and I don’t know you, but we are establishing trust through conversation. It all comes down to faith. Either you believe or you don’t. I have told you the truth, but you choose to reject it. Also, I did not claim that testimonies from other religions don’t exist. Many people have encountered demons in other religions too. The question of why should you believe me and not others comes down to faith. Do my claims back up what the Bible teaches? Yes, they do. Is Jesus Christ alive? Yes, He is. You will believe what you want to believe and trust who you want to trust. That is not up to me. Again, my duty is to honor God’s command and share my testimony, which I have done.

        Like

      36. P.P.S. You talk about corroborating evidence, but I already told you that there were witnesses there during every supernatural event I encountered. My entire family suffered the demon (Mom, Dad, me, and my younger sister), 2 of my friends were there the night the angel appeared and talked to me, 3 of my friends were there the night the angel carried me away from the guy chasing me with a knife, and my wife was right next to me when I died and came back in the wind of the Holy Spirit. She heard the wind blowing through our bedroom and she witnessed my mouth open, the wind go into it, and then I came back to life! Give me a break with your “corroborating evidence” request. You love to make excuses even when presented with evidence and witnesses.

My testimony is filled with plenty of evidence, but you refuse to believe it. All those witnesses would hold up in any court, but you choose to call me a liar. Wish you could talk with all my friends, my family, and my wife who witnessed it. Or would you call them liars too? I suppose if you were a judge you would call me and all the witnesses liars and throw the whole case out just because you don’t want to believe it. That is not seeking truth, bro.

I have given you evidence and witnesses, but you still choose to cop out, talk in circles, and speak about trust. How can anybody trust anybody? How can I trust you? I don’t know you. You could be a total nutcase for all I know. You don’t seem like one. You seem intelligent, but who is to say one can trust another? All I can do is present the evidence. I talk about the witnesses in my book.

Honestly bro, I also find you arrogant and condescending. You act like you want answers, but then when answers are given to you, you cop out and tell me I didn’t really experience what I experienced. That is disingenuous. I don’t have time to play games with you. I have told you the truth straight up, but you want to accuse me and call me a liar. That’s on you, bro and you will be held accountable for the knowledge I have given you. I have shared the Gospel with you and I have shared my testimony. Everything I experienced was corroborated by witnesses and everything I experienced happened to me, whether you believe it or not.

I tell you what, since you are in the U.S., I can send you a free copy of my book if you want one. You don’t need a Kindle. I use the free Kindle App. If you feel comfortable giving me your email, I will email you a free ebook directly from Amazon. At least read my entire testimony before you go calling a man a liar. At least do your due diligence and read the full testimony first. If you are a Kindle Unlimited subscriber, my book is already free on there.

My testimony is full of evidence and witnesses and it would hold up in any court of law and God’s court. Jesus Christ is Lord and He is alive and that’s the truth.

      37. Seriously bro, our family lived through that nightmare for 4 years, then Jesus delivered us from it! Listen to what you are saying to me and how ridiculous it sounds to me. Then I have 2 angel encounters in ’98, then I have the Lazarus miracle in 2012! No amount of questions or philosophy will ever change what happened to me. If you had been through all I’ve been through and you witnessed the power of Jesus firsthand, then I hope you would be out here telling people too. I was an atheist who loved to party and I hated Christians. Living with that demon and meeting Jesus changed my life forever.

Revelation 12:11 talks about believers overcoming the devil by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony. I have fulfilled my duty before God and shared my testimony before God and man. My duty is not making you believe it. No man can make another man believe anything he does not want to believe. My duty is to simply present my testimony and that testimony is 100% valid in God’s court, whether you believe it or not, and only He is the judge. I rest easy at night knowing I have fulfilled my duty by publishing my testimony to the world and I will continue to preach the Gospel and share my testimony until my very last breath.

You will never please God or go to Heaven without faith. I don’t care how much evidence is presented, God will always leave room for faith.

Believing without evidence is one thing – Believing in spite of contrary evidence is another, and you didn’t seem to take much time before doing so.

They’ve made a few mistakes out of the thousands of claims they’ve made over the years, but the vast majority, over 99%, have been corroborated as truth. We know that they are demonstrably trustworthy based on past experience. THAT is good evidence. I’m not absolutely certain of any claim they make, of course, but I have justification to trust them more than a random religious claim.

We cannot say the same for the Bible, or the author of this book, or you, yourself. I don’t know you. I don’t know how mentally stable you are. I mean no offense – these are things we have to think about over the internet.

  9. Let’s see. YOU cried that you would post comments on an atheist page, and you cried cause they supposedly will not allow your comments to be posted. But in your hypocrisy? You have done this to me. So let’s see if you will continue to be a hypocrite.

I know tens of thousands of people who became an atheist, because of the actions of Christians. Many victims of pedophile priests and pastors? Become atheists. First? Because as they were being raped by a Christian priest or minister in a church and prayed to god and Jesus to stop what was happening to them? Their prayers were not answered.

And then? When many of them came out about what happened to them? They came under vile, viscious attacks. Some? Have even been forced to stand in front of their congregations and in front of the very minister who raped them and apologize for falsely accusing them of rape.

Many victims of the Catholic Church comes under horrifying attacks. If they are male? They are told because they did not punch out their rapist that meant they wanted it, they enjoyed it and are homosexuals because of it. In the case of the deaf/mute children who were being raped at the Antonio Provolo Institutes? They were branded as children of satan and liars.

When people speak out against this? We come under severe attacks by Christians. For the work I do on Facebook, exposing this? I have had comments posted against me by Catholics telling me how I should be gang raped again, how I should be put to death for lying about their church.

I go through the same when I expose the people of say Bob Jones University, the Children of God, Jehovah Witnessess, the Southern Baptists, the Episcopalians and all the others. They trash us, they attack us, they declare us the evil ones and demand we go pick on Muslims instead.

Or? You talk about what Christians have historically done to us Native Americans, or what they did to Pagans and Jews? You all then play the No True Scotsman line of apologetics or you play the justification and minimization apologetics.

I have also come to learn the real hypocrisy of Christians. They got no problem judging others, proclaiming the evils of others, but hey, don’t you ever dare judge Christians or proclaim all the evils that Christians have done, cause then? You are persecuting Christians. Ahhh the hypocrisy of Christians? Is what actually proves? Their god, their Jesus and their BS religious beliefs they spew? Are all false.

    1. Hello. First off, I have never met you, so your comments were held in moderation because this is the first time you have left comments on my site. So, there is no hypocrisy as you accuse. I am in Colorado in the U.S. Mountain Time Zone. I went to bed at 9 p.m. last night and I am just now seeing your comments for the first time this morning. Keep that in mind before you go making assumptions and accusing people. Furthermore, I didn’t cry about anything, so not sure what you are talking about there.

I agree with you about the abuse by the Catholic priests and anyone else who does that to kids. To be very clear, there is a big difference between Catholic and Christian. Catholics are not Christians and most of those priests don’t even know Jesus. Any person who does that to kids will be punished by God, Christian or not.

Yes, there are hypocrites in this world. Christians are sinful too. We all are and we all need a Savior. I have many issues with religion and church. I didn’t grow up going to church. In fact, I hated Christians growing up. I was an atheist too and I thought Christianity was a joke. I thought Christians were just using their faith as a crutch.

That all changed when my family moved into a house that was possessed by a demon from hell. Living with that torment for 4 years was very real and it changed all of our lives forever. There is nothing false about God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, or His Word. It’s all true, every last word. Heaven and hell are real. Angels and demons are real. Jesus and satan are real. Everything the Bible says is true. I didn’t want to believe it either or even think about Christ, but living through poltergeist torment for 4 years showed me just how much I need Jesus.

All I can do is warn people and tell people what happened to me and my family. It happened whether you want to believe it or not. I am angry about the hypocrisy and sin too. That is no excuse to blame God and reject Jesus. God will deal with those who abuse kids and they will be punished.

There are many false preachers and imposters among the church today who are not real believers and they don’t have the Holy Spirit. JWs are not Christians either. Many of the people who commit those crimes don’t even know Jesus as they claim. They are wolves in sheep’s clothing. May God give them the punishment they deserve.

It was the same thing with supposed “Christians” who persecuted Native Americans. Most of them were Catholic and they didn’t even know Jesus. A lot of evil was done in God’s Name by men who didn’t even know God. Same thing with the crusades.

I am not religious. I love Jesus and I follow Him because He rescued me and my family from the evil one and his demons. I am just trying to share what happened to me and my family, so people know the truth and can make a better decision about their eternal soul.

      God bless

  10. Hi, I see this post is a little dated but I just wanted to respond because I was a former Believer for pretty much all my life until about 4yrs ago. Your fervor reminds me of my former self.

You mentioned that you lived in a house possessed by a demon. Was it just one demon or more? Did you see any actual demons? Do you have any photographs, video, or audio to confirm your claims?

    1. I’m sorry to hear you say you were a believer. Not sure what kind of a believer you were. If you really knew Jesus, then you would not reject Him. As far as we know, it was one demon. My sister saw it one night in her bedroom. No, she did not record it or take a photo. It was in the middle of the night and she was terrified. It also used to kick our dog and make him yelp and run away. It made bouncing ball noises at night. It also knocked pictures off the wall, flickered lights on and off, lit a candle one time, and made a breathing noise in my ear. It did many other terrifying things to us for 4 years.

My life and testimony are the evidence. I have also encountered angels twice in 1998, and I stopped breathing in 2012 and I was with the Lord outside my body for a short time before He put me back in my body by the power of the Holy Spirit. Like I’ve told many other atheists, it’s all true whether you believe it or not. It’s my responsibility to testify to what the Lord has done for me and I have done that and I do that every day. It’s not my responsibility to believe for you or make you believe. I will pray the Lord reveals Himself to you in a mighty way though.

      God bless you

      1. Yes, when I say I was a believer, I get some variation of your reaction. The best way to describe “what kind” I was is, I was just as faithful as you believe you are and probably 10x as much as your granny. I really was devout.

Other beliefs have their demons. I’m wondering how you correlated those experiences with Christianity over the others?

        Liked by 1 person

      2. No way you were 10x as faithful as my Grandma.😂 When did you repent and receive Jesus by faith?

I correlated it with Christianity because the Bible is the only book that explained what happened to us and after I accepted Christ and went back home, I rebuked the demon out of the house in the Name of Jesus. We never had any trouble again. That’s how. Jesus is Lord and only Jesus can defeat demons. Yes, other religions have demons, but the difference is the other religions worship them. They don’t cast them out in the Name of Jesus.

Does the Bible really explain why a demon would go out of its way to kick a dog? Can you site specific verses.

Does the Bible clearly explain why a demon would take clothes out of a closet only to do nothing with them?

You said your sister saw the demon but if no one else did, there’s room for doubt. Even the bible says the witness of one isn’t to be taken all that serious. Who else saw this demon?

      4. I’ll check it out sometime. The Bible talks about demons doing all kinds of things to people. Read Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.

Witness of 1? There were 4 people who experienced the demon’s torment in the same house for 4 years. Me, my sister, my Mom, and my Dad. Like I said, believe what you want. Peace.

      5. I only asked who else saw the demon. If only one person saw it and can’t show proof of it, then I’d agree with the Bible that its probably nothing to lose sleep over. We’d have to take your sister’s age into account among other factors.

Just because things happen that you can’t explain, doesn’t mean it’s wise to be hasty and call it supernatural. Maybe it would be wiser to actually investigate things thoroughly as to give a definitive reason for what you allege occurred.

You have no record of the things your claiming. If this is part of your testimony, without proof, you could be lying about all this .

This is one of the things helped me leave the Faith. There’s claims all over the place but none of the followers can seem to produce any proof of claims. Good talking to you. I’m looking forward to more of your posts.

        Liked by 1 person

      6. You cannot imagine how ridiculous what you are saying sounds to me after what we went through. There is nothing hasty about it. Investigate it? I lived it! What do you mean proof of claims? I and my whole family are the proof. Don’t be obnoxious. And what do you mean there’s no record of the things I’m claiming? I wrote it all out in my testimony and published it. That’s the record of it. It’s part of our family history and I have told you the truth. Truly seek the truth about Jesus and dig into God’s Word. You will find Jesus!

        Liked by 1 person

      7. That’s what I mean by “inestigate”. I mean truly seek the truth of what happened as opposed to what you claimed happen.

People record their recollection of events and publish them all the time. It doesn’t necessarily mean that their telling of the events is true. This is the whole reason people ask/request/demand proof of claims.

No one saw an actual demon kick your dog. Your dog had a reaction that you can’t explain and you claim a demon did it. But you have no proof it was a demon.

Should everyone assume demons are at work everytime their pets do something out of the ordinary?

In Christianity, its taught to believe without proof and there’s obviously something wrong with that.

Its just irresponsible to make claims that you can’t verify. You seem to be calling those things which be not as though they really were…and likely are not.

      8. It didn’t just kick the dog, man. It did a lot of other things every day for 4 years. Can you even imagine that? Should you assume demons are at work when pictures are violently knocked off the wall, lights turn on and off rapidly at specific moments, a candle lights out of nowhere, and your dog appears to be following something, then runs in fear as it is kicked right in front of you by an invisible force, and these things happen repeatedly for years? Yes you should, and I would recommend running to Jesus if that ever happens to you. Again, Jesus cast it out. Jesus made it stop. You can demand all the proof you want. I am the proof and I have told you the truth. Like I said, all of that is true and it happened just as I have told you, whether you believe it or not.

      9. Yes, there are many stories like mine of how Jesus delivered people from spiritual evil. We are in a spiritual battle and many people experience things like this and come to Jesus through it. Jesus has seen you and me and everything else since the beginning of time. Jesus is Lord. We did not believe in Jesus when these things were happening to us in the house. I came to Jesus after these things happened. Got saved my freshman year in college, then my whole family came to Christ after the demon was cast out.

      10. I’m the proof Jesus casts out demons. What other proof would I have other than my testimony? Listen to what you’re saying. I don’t have pictures or video to show you. Really, what you’re asking for is ridiculous. You take it on faith and either believe it or don’t. Maybe you will believe it, maybe you won’t, but that’s not up to me.

      11. Another antagonistic mocking atheist, what’s new? Real evidence of claims? I lived through the evidence and I came to faith in Jesus because of that evidence. Jesus proved His power when He cast it out too.

      12. Ryan, I’m asking you the questions I’d expect someone to ask me if I were making these kinds of claims.

If I were making public claims, I’d make sure to have evidence to back it up just in case there were people who required it. If it’s real, there’s no problem providing evidence.

Is it possible fear played a part in your perception of the events?

        Liked by 1 person

      13. There you go again asking about evidence and proof. I am the evidence dude. My testimony is the evidence. You were not there, so how can I give you any physical evidence? You were not there when the demon breathed in my ear, you were not there when it kicked our dog, you were not there when it knocked pictures off the wall, you were not there when it lit a candle, you were not there when it flickered lights on and off rapidly. Fear has nothing to do with our perception of events. The events that the demon did are what caused the fear. You ask the same questions over and over demanding evidence. Your problem is not that you want evidence. Your problem is a lack of faith and you’re looking for every reason to make excuses and reject Jesus. Believe it or don’t. I don’t need to justify or prove myself to you or anyone else. Like I said before, my responsibility is to share my testimony and I have done that.

        Liked by 1 person

      14. Ryan, all I’m saying is while I was a Believer, I heard stories like this AND even had some of my own. You’re a Believer too so I’m sure you’ve heard stories of supernatural things happening but even you will notice that there’s never any evidence.

It makes no sense to say demons hate us and want to destroy us but when you encounter them, they’re just lighting candles and kicking dogs. You give the impression that demons are just misfits and practical jokers. I hear no threat from demons in your testimony.

A demon breathed on you. So what? It’d be something to fear if it actually tried to bite your ear off.

        Liked by 1 person

      15. All you have to do is read the Bible to learn how evil demons are. No threat? Just lighting candles and kicking dogs? As if that’s no big deal, right? Don’t be ridiculous.

Like I said, I am the evidence, the evidence of a changed life. Even after I was diagnosed with Celiac disease in 2012, I did not turn my back on Jesus. Even after 8 years of terrible suffering since 2012, I have not turned my back on Jesus, and He has never turned His back on me.

I read part one on your blog this morning. I never heard you mention Jesus even once. You talk a lot about religion and Christianity and your Mom praying and using oils, but you don’t talk about Jesus or when you actually repented and received Jesus Christ for yourself by faith. I am left to assume that you never truly accepted Jesus Christ and I have no idea how your Mom believed or if she really did believe in Jesus. Sounds like your Dad didnt believe at all. Many people say they believe in God, but they never repent & receive Jesus. Even the demons believe in God and they shudder. Sounds like you got a lot of religion and not an actual personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

I grew up the exact opposite of you. I did not go to church or grow up in a Christian home. I grew up in a liberal home on MTV and partied and messed with girls and did whatever I wanted to with my sinful nature, and I was good at it. I have roots in the Midwest too. I went to high school 35 miles west of Chicago in St. Charles. That is where we lived in the demon possessed house.

What happened to us in that house was so life changing that I gave up my sinful lifestyle and came running to Jesus and I have never looked back. I was 18 when I accepted Jesus in 1996 and I’m 41 now and I’ve been preaching the Gospel ever since I was 18. That is the best evidence anybody could have.

Jesus Christ is alive! I was with Him when I stopped breathing in 2012 due to anaphylactic shock from eating oats. I left my body in the Spirit and I was with Jesus. He told me, “It’s okay” and then He put me back in my body in the powerful wind of the Holy Spirit. My wife was kneeling next to my body and she witnessed the whole thing. I also had two angel encounters in Denver in 1998.

      16. P.S. Furthermore, I didn’t need to see the demon. I heard it make a breathing noise in my left ear and we saw the effects of it messing with physical objects all the time. I’m glad I didn’t see it. My sister was not a little girl when she saw it. She was a teenager in High School. Also, if you think living with a demon is nothing to lose sleep over, you are nuts and should seriously rethink such an arrogant and ignorant statement.

        Liked by 1 person

      17. Can you explain the purpose of demons tinkering with objects? For that matter, why do you rule out angels doing it? There’s no apparent harm in moving an object. Where’s the evil in that?

        Liked by 1 person

      18. You should really be careful with what you say regarding spiritual matters you do not understand. Do you think it is funny seeing something moved by an invisible force? No, it is evil and terrifying. Angels don’t play freaky tricks on people. They serve God and minister to those who are to inherit salvation. Demons tinker with objects because it is tormenting and terrifying to the people experiencing it. Do I really need to explain that to you? I suppose if you ever experience it, you’ll know where the evil is in that. I hope you never have to go through that.

        Liked by 1 person

      19. Im not afraid. Why do you think In don’t understand? I believed in the same book and God as you. I used to believe in demons too.

Do I ithink its funny seeing things move by an invisible force? Well, I’m more fascinated than anything. You should’ve been there when I first saw magnets in action before knowing why they stuck together.

Angels don’t do freaky tricks? But we have heard stories of angels doing inconvenient things to people. Remember John the Baptist’s dad?

You say it was tormenting? How come you didn’t call any neighbors or the news or the police to come witness any of this?

If it was me, I’d want to show the world.

      20. Yeah right, man! If we would have called the police or news, they would have laughed at us! What would they have done for us anyway? Give me a break. You wouldn’t be so quick to run out and tell anybody. Don’t even act arrogant about it with me. You didn’t live it. You don’t know what you’re talking about. And we did tell people. Some of our close neighbors and friends knew about it.

      21. How could they laugh at something so REAL. You just said, it’s not funny to experience. Maybe everyone else could’ve experienced the horror you’re claiming and could’ve verified it.

Actually, I would run and tell people especially if it happened every night without fail like you’re cliaming. And I did tell peoplew about my experiences in the Faith whether they were believers or not.

Were your neighbors too scared too come see or did they just not believe your claims?

        Liked by 1 person

      22. The police and the news would have thought we were crazy. Like I said, we were not believers back then, so we didn’t know what was going on. My parents called it a ghost. After I got saved, I told everybody about Jesus and what He did for me and I’ve been doing that for the last 23 years ever since. We had neighbors and friends visit. They saw the crayon marks on the walls. They believed us, but who cares if they didn’t. We were the ones living it. Somebody not believing it wasn’t going to change what was happening to us. Just like you not believing me doesn’t change what happened.

      23. You can’t think for other people, Ryan. How arrogant of you to say you know how everyone will react in a situation. Maybe they wouldn’t have been as easily spooked as your family. maybe some of them had experience in those matters.

As a matter of fact, the house my family lived in just months ago had cabinets that opened and closed on their own. Grandpa died and cousin that it was him but oh upon INVESTIGTION…….

It’s about perception. If you believe in demons, you’ll think it was demons. If you don’t believe in demons, you’ll actually take time to find an explanation instead of running away with their imagination.

Question: Did you see the crayon writing AS it was happening. I’m expecting you to say no.

        Liked by 1 person

      24. How is it arrogant to say that those things are terrifying and they scare people? It’s not. Running away with our imagination? Give me a break. I’ve heard that before from other atheists and I’m not going to waste my time with it. Nothing about what we went through was imagined. The crayon markings were not something it would do while we were watching. So what? Waking up to it was freaky just like everything else it did.

        Liked by 1 person

      25. If other atheists(I’m not an atheist) are telling you that your imagination, why are you so highminded that you can’t consider “hey, is there something I’m not seeing that they see?” That part of being humble. Humility is a human thing; not exclusively a god or Christian thing.

I notice that everything you accuse the demon of doing, there’s no proof a demon did it. The demon won’t let you see it draw on the wall? Is it self-conscious? Is it possible that people in the home are playing a joke on you?

        Liked by 1 person

      26. The demon did many things. It did not just mess with my dog or draw on the walls. It did many other things for 4 years. Like I told you, it was not imagination and it all stopped after I accepted Jesus Christ and came back home for Christmas break my freshman year and rebuked the demon out of the house in the Name of Jesus. Only then did the terrifying torment stop. It is not my problem that you don’t want to believe in Jesus and you want to find every excuse not to believe in Jesus. Why are you so high minded that you can’t consider the Bible is truth and that what I’m saying is true? That’s what you should really be asking.

        Liked by 1 person

      27. I considered the Bible to be true for many years but I decided that just believing because it said so wasn’t wise. It’s when it’s been proven and thats where the Bible failed.

        Liked by 1 person

      28. God does not need to prove Himself to you, that’s what you’re not getting. Creation alone speaks of the glory of God and you are without excuse. There is plenty of proof and evidence, but you want to argue with it and deny it. You are not looking for truth. You are looking for confirmation biases for your lack of faith. The Bible hasn’t failed. There is even proof of the Red Sea crossing and other Biblical events, if you are truly willing to search for it. The Bible, God, and Jesus have not failed you. Religion failed you. I encourage you to seek Jesus directly and ask Him to reveal Himself to you in a way that would be specific to you that only He would know. Seek Him with all your heart and you will find Him. Praying blessing over you. Peace.

      29. You say “God does not need to prove Himself”. This is something every believer echos. I used to echo this myself. But you will notice that he never says that himself or at least he’s never said that to you himself.
This is something you decided about him on your own.
You said ‘creation speaks of the glory of god’. I remember this biblical reference. But I realized that this isn’t the pnly god who lays claim to being Creator. How do you distinguish which god is the creator over another? Did you do any research on the other invisible gods or did you just go with the first god that you were familiar with?
You said “you are not looking for truth”. You would say the Bible is the Truth or god is. Does that mean that things we’ve come to understand outside of the Bible are not true?
There isn’t proof of the Red Sea crossing. We see chariot wheels and things down there but that doesn’t mean the legend surrounding it is true. But becasue you decided that the biblical account is true without investigating the claim on your own, you’re not allowed to entertain that possibility.
Finally, you said I should seek Him. Well, why don’t we just ask him to engage in this conversation with us? But I have this suspicion that he isn’t capable of doing that amongst some other thngs.

      30. There is only One God, and yes I studied all the world religions. Yes, there is evidence of the Red Sea crossing and other events. Look into it. Yes, the Bible is truth; eternal truth. A book you might like is “The Case for Christ” by Lee Strobel. He was an atheist and investigative journalist before coming to Jesus. The questions he had and how he investigated Jesus might be encouraging to you.

Jesus has been with us in our conversation from the start. God is capable of anything, for nothing is impossible for God. But I suppose we will agree to disagree on that and many other things. Like I said, believe what you want. I’m not going to argue with you and nothing you ever say will ever change what happened to me or my faith in Jesus. So, probably best you move on. My perspective of Jesus is very unique because of the supernatural way I came to know Him. Not much I can do for you other than pray.

        Grace and peace to you

      31. I know of Lee Strobel and his book. I was a believe, remember? I’m probably familiar with many of the people you know of. There’s things the Lee didn’t take into consideration and things youhaven’t either.

You say Jesus has been with us in this conversation from the start but I will ask you again: Was Jesus there in that haunted house while it was going on?

        Liked by 1 person

      32. Like I said, we were not believers in Jesus when that was going on in the house. We came to Jesus because of it. God was in control the entire time. I could ask why God allowed it to happen to us, but my entire family got saved because of it, so it ended up being a good thing. Or rather, God worked it out for good. It wasn’t good living with a demon, I know that. Jesus is with us in this conversation because Jesus is inside of me by the power of the Holy Spirit.

What other things would I need to take into consideration after the Lord has revealed Himself in such amazing ways to me and my family? Nothing, that’s what. Jesus saved us, period.

I accepted God’s Word and Jesus by faith and I went home Christmas break of ’96 and cast that demon out in the Name of Jesus by faith in Jesus. What God did for me with the angels in 1998 was even more incredible, then God saved me with the miracle in 2012, which was phenomenal. I shouldn’t even be here right now, but God put me back in my body and gave me breath again. I cried out to Jesus as I took my last breath and He was right there with me. All I can do is testify and I have done that.

I don’t know why my life has been so strange, but it has and I am thankful that God revealed Himself to me like He did. Hope He does the same for you in whatever way will help you. Again, not much I can do for you. You have heard my testimony. Take it or leave it. Whether you believe it or not has no bearing on what happened to me and my family. I have fulfilled my duty in testifying.

        God bless

      33. We didn’t believe in Jesus, so why would He have been there? He was there in the fact God is always in control, but we didn’t call on Jesus during that time. Not until after I got saved. If people want Jesus in their lives, they must put their faith in Him first. My parents didn’t even seek out a Pastor or ask for prayer or anything during that entire time. We were unbelievers back then and we didn’t know what was going on.

      34. That’s interesting and I expected you to say that because you are a Christian.

So, do you think that’s why there’s so many victims of crimes? Because if the criminal isn’t saved and the victim isn’t saved, according to your belief it makes sense why crime is so prevalent. Jesus doesn’t care about what happens to people that don’t call on him.

I guess when I put it like that, you’d disagree?

        Liked by 1 person

      35. Jesus cares about all of us. Crime is not His fault. Crime is a byproduct of sin. I don’t know why sometimes God rescues people and sometimes He doesn’t. God used an angel to save me from a man chasing me with a butcher knife on the streets of Denver. Why did He do that for me, but others were stabbed and killed in similar situations? I don’t know. There are plenty of times God rescues people who don’t believe in Jesus, so it is incorrect to say Jesus doesn’t care.

Bad things still happen to Christians too. I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease on 1-6-2012 and it completely messed up my life. I have been through terrible suffering for many years. Why did God do all those miraculous things for me in the past, but He allowed this disease? Why won’t He heal me? I could drive myself nuts asking those questions, but all I can do is trust in God. I know He is good and He has a plan, and I trust Him. He has used my suffering to help others, I know that. I could get mad and say God doesn’t care, but I know that’s not true. The sun and rain fall on the saved and unsaved. Trouble is part of this sinful earth and we all experience it, Christian or not.

      36. Wait! Wait! You just asked a series of questions and said you could drive yourself crazy asking those questions. Why don’t you ask god himself why? Or have you noticed that god doesn’t seem to have the ability to answer direct questions?

        Liked by 1 person

      37. Believe me, I asked why. I went through torturous pain for years and there were many times I yelled up at God in great anger, pumping my fist at Him, literally. He answered me with His love and peace. He comforted me and spoke to my heart like He does in the Holy Spirit, and He let me live and strengthened me to publish my book and start this blog to tell the world what He has done for me. God most definitely has the ability to answer direct questions. You sure do like to mock God, don’t you? What is your deal? What is it exactly that you are mad at God about?

        Liked by 1 person

      38. You asked direct questions and didn’t get an answer. You seem at peace right now. If you ask those same questions peacefully now, what are the odds that he’ll actually answer back?

Every Christian says “he spoke to my heart” seemingly to make up for why he can’t actually answer direct questions.

        Liked by 1 person

      39. God can do whatever He wants and He can answer us any way He wants to. I don’t need to ask those questions anymore. I know God can heal me and make it like it never happened, if He wants to. May His will be done either way. After all God has shown me and done for me, I owe Him my loyalty and my life. Again, you mock God and you keep saying He can’t do things. So again, why do you mock God and why are you angry with Him?

        Liked by 1 person

      40. Did you hear what you just said? Do you find yourself always answering FOR god?

I’m not mocking but when I was a Believer I started noticing certain things like how I used to make excuses for why God couldn’t do certain things.

Isn’t it crazy how god can save a soul from utter destruction but can’t keep his own followers from suffering the same diseases as people who don’t worship him?

You say he can answer any way he wants. But if you ask me a question, don’t you expect an actual answer? You don’t expect a sign or wonder or miracle. If you ask with your lips, someone with lips will respond back.

Does the make of the mouth have a mouth of his own?

      41. There you go mocking God again. Yeah, you are mocking Him. I am not answering for God nor am I making excuses for Him. His ways are not our ways. He is God and we are not. He can keep me from suffering, but sometimes He allows the thorn for a purpose and His grace is sufficient.

        Liked by 1 person

      42. Yes, I prayed many times about it and the Lord spoke to me in the Spirit and let me know He was with me, that He loved me, and that His grace is sufficient. He doesn’t speak audibly out of the sky, although He can do that and the times He did that are recorded in the Bible. He speaks in a quiet voice like a thought running through your mind. I’m sure that will be one more aspect of God that you will mock, but that is how He speaks to us by the power of the Holy Spirit. He also leads us in His Word and speaks to us that way as well. He has never left me and He always comforts me and lets me know He is with me. God is good like that.

      43. Just going off your first sentence. You ask a direct question and got an indirect answer. As a former believer , I hear these vague words of consolation all the time,: “God told me He loves me” “God said keep going” “God just reminded me, he was with me”.

Every Christian says this as if they all worship a vague god. It soon became clear to me that this god doesn’t have the ability to answer a direct question. Give it a try. Ask him what the square root of 31,648 is. I’m being dead serious. He can’t answer it.

He speaks in a quiet voice like a thought in your mind? So, when you think he’s talking to you, it’s really just in your head?

If you talk to someone aloud, do they answer in your mind or do they answer aloud? Answering aloud is also something this god can’t do.

        Liked by 1 person

      44. You are so wrong it’s not even funny. Here, read this:
“Now my heart is troubled, and what shall I say? ‘Father, save me from this hour’? No, it was for this very reason I came to this hour. Father, glorify your name!”
Then a voice came from heaven, “I have glorified it, and will glorify it again.”
        John 12:27-28

That is just one instance of God speaking audibly from Heaven. Now you know how wrong you are.

Nothing vague about God and no, it’s not all in our heads, but I figured you would say something mocking like that. God can answer us out loud if He wants to, but He will always leave room for faith. I have given you the evidence of my testimony, but you don’t believe. You could have all the evidence in the world, but you will still have to repent and put your faith in Jesus. I trusted in Jesus by faith and He proved His existence and power to me and He has done so many times.

      45. I’m quite familiar with that passage. But that’s someone else’s experience; not yours.

And aren’t you a son of god? How come he’ll readily talk to that son out of the sky but can’t whisper audibly aloud in your ear. You can hear a demon breathing in your ear but that’s also something this god can’t seem to do.

You do realize that you’ll be saying “if he wants to” for as long as you live because the truth is he never will.

Hold on, I thought you said before that god doesn’t have to prove himself to people. How did you suddenly become the exception?

      46. Can he prove that he can actually talk if you just plainly ask him to? Can you think of any reason why he wouldn’t answer a simple request? Aren’t all things in him, “yes” according to scripture?

      47. It also says not to test the Lord. The Bible is clear that nothing is impossible for God. I know that full well. I was picked up by an angel and flown away from a man chasing me with a knife! Do you understand that? Do you understand that God can do absolutely anything? If you had experienced what I have experienced, then you would not be mocking God.

        Liked by 1 person

      48. Let me get this straight. You mean to tell me that if someone came to you and asked a question, your immediate reaction is, “this person is testing me!”? Of course not!

So, why do you feel its some sort if test if you ask god a straight forward question? Doesn’t make sense does it?

Don’t you have a relationship with him? If he ignores your direct questions, maybe you don’t have as good a relationship as you think.

And that sucks because even if you ask him directly where you stand with him, he won’t answer you.

You don’t question these things? Are you afraid that the obvious is staring you in the face?

      49. God is not a person. He is God. His ways are not our ways. Asking Him questions is not testing Him, but it could be depending on what you are asking. Dude, you are just not getting it. The Lord has revealed Himself to me in miraculous ways. That is what is staring me in the face. Ask God to speak to you like that if that’s what you want. I am at peace with God and what He has done for me.

      50. There you go answering for him again. Notice that?

What do you mean “his ways are not our ways”? I thought we were made in his image. If we can conversate, how come he can’t?

If we can do things he can’t, he’s not god, we are.

        Liked by 1 person

      51. That’s not what “His ways are not our ways” means. His ways are higher than our ways. He is God. Of course He can have conversations. I talk with the Lord every day by the power of the Holy Spirit. There is nothing He can’t do.

Anyway, going back and forth is getting us nowhere. I believe and you don’t. I trust God and you mock God. What’s the point of carrying on the conversation? I can’t make you believe or believe for you and nothing you are saying will ever change my faith in Jesus or the truth of what God has done for me and my family.

It is 1:33 a.m. here in Colorado. I have shared my testimony with you and there is nothing more I can do for you. I pray the Lord speaks to you and gives you the answers you’re looking for. Maybe He will move in power and reveal Himself to you in mighty ways like He did for me. Maybe you will accept Him if He does that, but my guess is you probably still wouldn’t and you would still find some excuse to say it wasn’t God.

I pray God helps you out in the way you need in order to come to faith.

But then I have to tell them what a conversation looks like and sounds like. You talking to him aloud in your prayer time isn’t a conversation; it’s more like talking to yourself because no one is actually talking back.

A conversation is an active dialogue between two parties. It’s not a conversation when only one person is talking. You’ve had conversations with real people and that’s not what’s happening when you talk to god and you know it.

You worship a god who can’t talk or conversate. He has a whole list of other limitations as well. You say he can do anything but you have no evidence to support that. A faith claim is not equal to evidence. But you bought into a lie that it is.

      53. I’m sick of your mockery, bud. Like I told you, He has conversations with us by the Holy Spirit, but you mock that too. God has no limitations and I gave you plenty of evidence in my testimony, but you don’t want to believe it. Nothing false about Jesus and what He has done for me. Believe what you want and get off my blog. I’m not going to waste my time on mockers. Pfft.

      54. P.S. I highly doubt that you ever believed in the Bible or in Jesus. You never answered my question. When did you repent and receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior? And by the way, if you had lived in that house with the demon, you would have felt fear that takes your breath away.

      55. Just answer me straight up right here on my blog. It is a quick question with a quick answer. When did you repent and receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior? I’m not asking about anything else or the whole journey. Just when did you accept Christ?
