Snowstorm Joy & A Heavenly Thought

Snow 11-26-19

Hello from snowy Colorado!  We got hammered with over a foot of snow last night and this morning.  It was a bit rough shoveling all of it off the driveway, but my wife helped me and it was nice having the two shovel tag team.  Our kids had a great time sledding down our homemade luge on the side of our house too, which they have loved doing ever since they were little.  We love playing in the fluffy powder the Rockies bring to Denver!  I told the kids I would do a post for them, so just sharing a few photos and a couple Bible verses today, enjoy!

Victory!!!  So much fun!  Great job on the snow track kids!  You have mastered the Callahan luge!  Watching my kids play in the snow reminds me of the Bible verse about going out and leaping like calves when we get to Heaven.  It is going to be so beautiful and joyful that we will leap for joy like children!

“But for you who revere my name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings.  And you will go out and leap like calves released from the stall.”

Malachi 4:2

Always remember that God is love and He showed His love for all of us by dying on a cross to set us free from sin and death.  Someday we will pass on from this life to eternity and those who believe in Jesus will live forever in the glory and peace of Heaven.  We will have new glorified bodies free from disease and injury and we will go out and leap!

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

Jesus speaking in John 3:16

Grace and peace to you all!

      Good Morning All,

Today’s Verse of the Day is

      Colossians 3:16

Let the [spoken] word of Christ have its home within you [dwelling in your heart and mind—permeating every aspect of your being] as you teach [spiritual things] and admonish and train one another with all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs with thankfulness in your hearts to God.

  1. How joyful your words are to explain the feeling we will have when we get to Heaven! I liked that scripture a lot because we all can picture those rambunctious calves jumping with the wonderful feeling of freedom. My grandkid’s are having a blast I can tell, a perfect place to sled! Thanks for posting the photos, Ryan. So nice you all are on your Thanksgiving break…let it snow, right?! I need to send you the 3 pair of snowshoes I have, perfect for all that deep snow you have! Sounds like you all are enjoying a great day! Love you guys!

  2. Hello snowy Colorado!! From pollution-ridden Dallas Texas! Holiday Greetings!

Another great post Ryan! Neat share about the family. Love your WELL-written, cogent (and pleasingly concise) posts.

The “luge” description and photos were terrific. Put me back in the youthful winters I once experienced back in the Stone Age in Kansas City, Kansas (Mission, Prairie Village, Overland Park). We neighbor kids used to sled down “luges” with great joy and anticipation – and might I say total with abandon. We would have sled fights going down the “luges” trying to dismount the other adjacent guy in any manner possible. Oh, to be young again. “Youth is wasted

  3. Wow, that snow must have been beautiful as it was falling if you got that much that fast! I agree with your other readers, it would be wonderful to have your own luge. 🙂 What a great playground for the kids. Glad to see them out enjoying the weather!

  4. Since moving from Montana about 12 years ago, I have missed the snow during the wintertime. Thanks for sharing these “cool” pictures. My youngest daughter and husband were going to head to Colorado Springs from Montana for Thanksgiving, but the weather forced them to stay home.
