Good morning everyone and God bless you!  Most of us have seen the devastation in the Bahamas caused by Hurricane Dorian.  The images are heartbreaking and the people need our help!  We need to be in prayer and we need to take action!  Praise God for the ministry of Samaritan’s Purse that has already airlifted emergency supplies and the hope of the Gospel to the Bahamas as of 9 a.m Eastern Time today!  The Lord is loving and good and He is on the move!

Here is an email I received from Franklin Graham’s ministry late yesterday:

“Samaritan’s Purse has loaded our DC-8 full of emergency supplies to airlift to the Bahamas following Hurricane Dorian’s catastrophic strike on the islands.  The deadly Category 5 storm pummeled the archipelago with sustained winds of 185 mph, destroying thousands of homes and inundating entire communities.  At its full strength, Dorian was one of the most powerful Atlantic storms on record.

Our plane is loaded with emergency shelter material, household water filters, and two community filtration units that turn saltwater into drinking water.

Still a dangerous Category 2 storm, Dorian is threatening the East Coast from Florida to the Carolinas.  Our staff and entire fleet of disaster relief units are ready to respond in Jesus’ Name as soon as the storm passes.  Once we’re on the ground, our volunteer teams will begin tarping roofs, cutting trees, and cleaning out flooded homes.

Please pray for the thousands of people who have already lost so much and for those who are still in Dorian’s path.  Pray also for our teams as they work around the clock to bring relief and to share the hope of the Gospel.

Sincerely,

Franklin Graham

President, Samaritan’s Purse”

Here is the update this morning:

“Update (9:01 a.m., Sept. 4): Samaritan’s Purse is sending tons of emergency relief to the Bahamas aboard our DC-8 aircraft this morning.

The plane left Greensboro, North Carolina, around 9 a.m. carrying emergency shelter material, household water filters, and two community filtration units that turn saltwater into drinking water.  More than a dozen of our disaster response team specialists are onboard as well.

Samaritan’s Purse is also sending a small plane and helicopter to support our work and allow team members to access hard-to-reach areas.

“Families in the Bahamas are suffering and millions of others are bracing for Dorian’s impact as the storm continues to move,” said Franklin Graham, president of Samaritan’s Purse.  “Please join me in praying for everyone affected by this hurricane, and for our teams as we respond in Jesus’ Name.”

My wife and I have supported and prayed for the Graham family ministries for years and the work the Lord does through them is awesome!  If you would like to donate to Samaritan’s Purse to assist in helping the people of the Bahamas, please click the link below:

If you live in the Bahamas and the surrounding affected areas, please know that you are not alone!  God is with you and help is on the way!  Millions of God’s people are praying protection and blessing over you and the Lord is sending healing and relief!  God loves you all!  Never give up hope!

Please pray with me:

“Please Lord Jesus, pour out Your Holy Spirit on the people of the Bahamas!  Pour out Your great healing and bring peace!  Stop the storm Lord and protect all those still in its path!  Bless the relief efforts and let all the supplies get to the people safely!  Heal wounds Lord, comfort hearts, give them strength, and may they come to know You as their Lord and Savior through this!  May Your will be done in all things Lord, amen!”

May God’s people rise up and shine the love and compassion of the Lord in times like these!  May His Name be glorified and may many souls be saved!  Thank You Jesus for loving and caring for all people!

Grace and peace to you all!

“This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us.  And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers.  If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him?  Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth.”

  1. Amen, Ryan. Thank you for posting the needed prayer. A powerful prayer because I can just imagine how many people prayed when they read it. I am so glad you listed the link. The Graham family, their
staff, and volunteers are such a wonderful and generous Christian organization!! What a huge blessing they are to so many who are in a desperate situation with this hurricane. God bless those who are hurting right now, they are in my prayers, and all the wonderful volunteers!!!

  2. Watching the news on the devastation in the Bahamas has been so sad. I cannot imagine what they must be going through. It is just completely destroyed! I’m praying for everybody there. I pray God sees them through this. I’m also praying for those along the coast that could be getting the storm surge. I have quite a bit of family and friends along the coast.

  3. Thank you Ryan for releasing this post. The Samaritan’s purse has been doing a tremendous job over the years. It is a charity organisation that I highly recommend. We will continue to pray and support the victims of hurricane Dorian in the Bahamas. Have a great day.
