A Little Blogging Help Please

I don’t usually do two posts in one day anymore, but something is really bugging me here on WordPress and I need help.  It seems many of my comments to your blog posts are going to your spam folder.  That happens to me with your comments sometimes too.  Most of the time I check my spam folder it is filled with spam, but sometimes there are comments in there from people I communicate with daily.  It is strange and I don’t know why it happens.  One day the comments are fine, and then out of nowhere they end up in spam.  When that happens, the comments don’t show up in the notifications either, so you don’t even know there is a comment unless you check the spam folder.  Anyway, I have a request.  If you could please take a moment to help me out and check your spam folder, I would really appreciate it.

Most of my comments are getting through and I have chatted with many of you today.  However, several of you are not seeing my comments to your posts.  I have been reading your blogs and posting comments all day.  A couple of you let me know that my comments had ended up in your spam folder, and I appreciate you letting me know.

Also, I have sent emails to a few of you through your contact page.  When you have the standard WordPress contact form on your contact page, sometimes the emails people send you through your blog don’t get sent to your email like they should.  Instead they go to the “Feedback” page.  That is like the spam for your contact page.

If you are new to WordPress, or you don’t know how to check your Comments spam folder or the Feedback page, I can help.  Here are some pictures of the back office for my blog.  I pay for my site and my domain name, so my back office might look different if you have a free site.  I hope these pictures are helpful!

Here is my blog’s back office.  The two choices in the upper left are “My Site” or “Reader.”  To get to the Comments spam folder and the Feedback page, click “My Site.”

Back office 1

The comments and feedback links are under “Site,” so click that next:

Click Comments to check your blog’s spam folder or click Feedback to check for messages that came through your contact page.

And here is what the Comments folder looks like:

Right now you are looking at my Approved list of comments.  To check the spam on your blog just click Spam.  You can approve or delete comments in the spam folder.  There is even a bulk edit feature, which is nice.

I hope that helps!  Thank you for taking the time to help me out!  I care about the conversations I have with all of you.  I check my spam folder throughout the day to make sure I’m not missing your comments.

Before I go, none of my posts would be complete without some Scripture, so remember:

“That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”

Romans 10:9

  1. I just replied to a comment of yours that was in my spam folder. Maybe WordPress is getting overloaded and going rogue! I check my spam regularly, but probably not often enough. I’ll try to be more regular with that. God bless!

  2. Thanks for this post and thanks so much for pointing out your missing comments the other day! 😄 I do want to be getting my comments from people! The weird thing about it was, your comments weren’t even in my Spam folder, and it wasn’t showing up! It was in my comments folder. I just checked and found 1 comment in my Spam folder from someone else. This is crazy…And some of my comments haven’t been showing up on a couple people’s posts…Wonder what is going on? 🤔

  3. Maybe WordPress is changing something or updating on their end so it hasn’t clicked in or whatever it does to run smoothly, it would be aggravating. I wrote a comment on your post today using my phone, and clicked on post comment, but it didn’t show up so I wrote another one. Good you explained the issue, sounds like quite a few are having problems, too. Hope it clears up soon!

  4. I think some words trigger spam.

We have Father’s Day in September and I noticed over the weekend that I got a few emails in my spam box that were titled ‘Father’s Day’ or ‘Happy Father’s Day’. Because of the way I set up my email, I can actually read the content without opening it. There’s wasn’t much in the content part. They were just spammers. If something gets sent to spam that should be in the spam box I can then unspam it.

My wordpress comment spam box only has the occasional comment that shouldn’t have gone there but it’s always worth checking.

  5. Thank you for the heads up. I just checked my spam folder and found several comments from beloved bloggers that should never have gone there! I will be checking regularly now.

By the way, the real spam is crazy stuff. Some of those comments are book length, and mostly all nonsense.

    1. P.S. WP support was able to fix the issue on their end, praise God! Wanted to let you know that they said exactly what you thought. I posted so many comments that the system thought I was a spam bot. You were right! They told me to slow down a bit. So funny. I am coming up on my 1 year blogging anniversary on August 10th. I do this full time and I talk with people from all over the world all day and night. I receive a lot of comments on my posts and I read a lot of blogs and leave a lot of comments. Guess I was too fast for the system. I’ll have to chill a bit I guess. 🙂 Thanks again for the help! God bless!

  6. Sir, I am extremely sorry to say that I am only a part timer so far my blogging is concerned therefore I apologize for not having gone through your invaluable comments if any, I beg your pardon if you have found your inspiring comments in my spam box.If anything like that has happened then I didn’t let it happen deliberately. It was only due to a little lack of space and time. It is not you who should follow me rather it’s me who should follow every post of yours to learn more about the immense love of God the Father. Thank you so much for bearing with me.

  7. Sir,I have been struggling of some other isssue like following some bloggers, I am frequently asked to follow the person whom I have been following since few months. To my surprise I find that the blogger whom I have already followed needs to be followed again by logging in with email and password whenever I need to comment or like his her post.I thought it’s happening with me only as I have joined in January ’19.I don’t know whether it’s hapening with any other blogger or not.Is it because I am on a personal plan? I need to resolve the matter as I am losing interest owing to this issue.
