Let His Peace Rule Your Heart

We are on summer break now for the next eight weeks–praise God!  I am finally feeling better and I thank God for seeing me through yet another trial victoriously.  I will still be blogging this summer, but I will be spending a lot of time with my wife and kids too.  We are really looking forward to hot sunny days!  I might not be posting every day and some of my posts might be shorter, but I will be here like usual and will still be reading blogs and be active with comments.  The Lord has been putting that verse in Colossians on my heart lately.  There are a lot of things that want to rule our hearts that do us great harm.  Fear, pride, anxiety, despair, doubt, rage, anger, worry, and the terrible list goes on.  We have all struggled with something bad ruling our hearts at some point in our lives.  I have good news!  Jesus can heal all of it!  Believers in Jesus have His peace inside their souls and He comforts our hearts!  May we let the peace of Christ rule in our hearts today and forever!

“For he himself is our peace, who has made the two one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility.”

Ephesians 2:14

Jesus Himself is our peace!  Jesus is Lord!  He is the King of kings and Lord of lords!  May He rule in our hearts!  We have overcome the world through Jesus and the evils of this world no longer rule over us!  That is something to be truly thankful for!  Thank You Jesus!

“This is love for God: to obey his commands.  And his commands are not burdensome, for everyone born of God overcomes the world.  This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.  Who is it that overcomes the world?  Only he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.”

1 John 5:3-5

I played this song for my kids this morning.  It is an old school Kirk Franklin song called “Gonna Be A Lovely Day” that I listened to a lot in college (back in the late 90s).  Have a lovely day in the love and peace of Jesus!  Jesus truly is the lover of our souls and the fire that burns deep within!  May your peace rule in our hearts Lord and may we be thankful!

    1. Thanks Dee! 😂 Yeah, my kids have been singing it all morning! Yes, we go to Cali July 1-11th! Heading to Anaheim this time for 3 days at Disneyland and some relaxation. The house we rented has a pool, so looking forward to simple fun in the sun too…and Santa Monica beach! 🌞🌴 It’s finally warming up here too!😊 God bless!

  3. Amen, Amen, Ryan. Thanks for that awesome prayer! I will hold that in my mind and carry it my heart…that Jesus himself is our peace and have Jesus rule my heart!

      3. We recently bought the DVD. Lots of fun, and heartfelt.
        I recently started watching the 2018 movie Paul, Apostle of Christ. Haven’t finished it yet, but enjoyed what I saw.
        (Also saw the first few minutes of the first Pirates of the Caribbean movie, and intend to finish it soon.)

      5. I also fairly recently saw Russell Crowe’s Noah. I can (kind of) understand the controversy, but I rather enjoyed it (and thought it anti-extreme-environmentalism, despite the common claim that it promotes it).

  18. Enjoy your time with the family. The winters can be so long that when the nice weather comes it’s great to get out and enjoy. I’m so glad to hear you’ve gotten through yet another battle with your health. Blessings!
