I took that photo of Pike’s Peak yesterday close to sunset. It is an amazing blessing to see God’s majesty in the Rockies every day. Several months ago I talked about wanting to get on top of the roof of our house and take some pictures. Well, today I did that. When I came back down, I opened the Word to Psalms and my eyes fell on Psalm 90:1-2. Before the beauty and splendor of the Rocky Mountains ever existed, God was and always will be everlasting to everlasting!
Here are the photos I took from the rooftop just about 10 minutes ago:
More photos of Pike’s Peak from yesterday:
The majesty and beauty of the Lord is greater than any of us can imagine!
Glory to Your Holy Name Lord Jesus!
Grace and peace to you all!
“I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life.”

Thank you sister, God is good! Some people do pay that around here. 🙂 Brian Dawkins (the former NFL player) lives just up the street. It was great having him play for the Broncos for a little bit. His daughters were getting piano lessons from my wife for awhile. I met Dawkins once. He came in our house and I shook his hand and chatted a bit. He is a strong believer in Christ too and a humble guy. His hand was like concrete. 🙂 Incredibly strong dude! God bless!

😂😂😂😂😂 concrete hands, that made me laugh. I don’t know the guy but now I have to go Google him. 😊

🙂 You might remember him when he played for the Eagles. He played for them 13 seasons and then his last 3 seasons were with the Broncos here in Denver. He used to come running out of the tunnel through fog when he played with the Eagles. He was a monster on the field! God bless!

He looks like a very gentle person from the pictures I’ve seen. Sadly I don’t live in the USA, so I’m very clueless when it comes to American football. Thanks for taking the time to explain even more, I’ve learnt something new today.

Breathtaking photos Ryan!📷😀 Nice to see places with no snow too! I would love to be on the roof for some of our sunsets, can’t see them good from down here in the summer, maybe I’ll have to give that a try. God bless!

Thanks Steve! Yeah, it’s warming up here. Today is pretty nice. I would have taken more photos, but there was a bit of a wind and I decided it was time to get down. We live in a 3 story home with a walkout basement and our house sits up on a bit of a hill, so it is very high up there. Don’t look down is good advice. 🙂 God bless!

Yes, I know what you mean, I actually have a fear of heights but as a carpenter I had to put up with walking on walls while putting up trusses and being on some incredibly steep roofs. The worst place was 50 feet high and was just 4feet from the edge of a cliff that was over 100 feet high. And I was working right on the edge of that roof. I used to do some crazy things, I have settled down a bit now. Just a bit, now I just go out and chase bears off my deck, but at least it’s not high!😂

That is scary stuff! I watch the roofers do that around here sometimes. We have metal tie in points on the roof where workers can hook up a safety rope. I would not want to work on these tall houses without a harness. 🙂 We have black bears come through here sometimes too (mountain lions too), but not as much as the folks in the high country do. Have fun with the animals today! 🙂 God bless!

Ryan, you caorurrd such gorgeous photos of Pikes Peak at sunset! Your photo looks like an artist’s watercolor. Your rooftop images are beautiful…Glad you got up there like you wanted, such a magnificent view. It was amazing this was your blog and what was on your heart today because it was exactly what I was thinking about. I went to the YMCA with my trusty old Walkman and John Denver tape so I could think about the freedom and beauty I feel when I’m in the mountains, and imagine God’s magesty. Thank you for these beautiful photos, which are even better because you took them. Love you!

Yes, John Denver brought a lot of interest and migration to Colorado in the 70’s and 80’s. I can’t listen to him without thinking of the Rockies.

I think it’s great that you consistently praise God for the beautiful mountains. I know some people who live near the Rockies who are so caught up in their routine that they don’t even notice the mountains anymore.
Your rooftop adventure reminded me of growing up as a “Country Boy” on a farm (yes, I too like singing that John Denver song). In my teen years I would climb to top of our silo some 100 feet up and sit on the roof. The view of the countryside was amazing. I wasn’t a Christian then, but I couldn’t help but recognize the beauty of God’s creation.
