Rejoicing In Suffering

Sunrise at Ryan’s 2-28-19

Good morning everyone!  It is a new and blessed day that we can rejoice in!  The kids are feeling great and off to school this morning and we have overcome yet another hardship through the power of the Lord.  God painted the sky beautifully this morning!  That photo is from our back deck looking due east towards the sunrise.  The Rockies are straight west from there to the right.  I was feeling pretty beat up this morning, but the Lord lifted me up when He showed me His glory in the sky!

When I opened the blinds there was a warm pink glow covering our neighborhood.  I stepped out onto the deck and I took a big deep breath of that crisp cool Rocky mountain air and it was so sweet and refreshing!  As I praised God and started snapping photos, my spirit was lifted and the discouragement from my beat up body melted away.

When I came downstairs to my office to download the photos and pray about what the Lord wanted me to write, the Lord spoke a word to my heart.  I was reading through some of the posts this morning and I read Phillip’s post about Job.  I wrote a post about Phillip titled “Powerful Testimony” last week.  He asked some questions at the end and one stood out: “How can you rejoice in your sufferings today?”

The Lord then spoke to my heart as He brought this Scripture to mind, “but we also rejoice in our sufferings.”

“Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand.  And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God.  Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope.  And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.”

Romans 5:1-5

The Lord comforted and encouraged me this morning with a wonderful sunrise.  I am rejoicing even now as I continue to deal with Celiac related health issues and pain.  The show the Lord put on this morning as He introduced the day was fantastic and awesome and my spirit was moved to praise Him!  Even in our sufferings we rejoice!

I can feel His love poured out into my heart and His hope never fades!  May His will be done as He molds us and helps us grow.  May He produce the kind of perseverance and character He wants in us as He strengthens our hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.  Thank You Jesus, in Your Name, amen!

Whatever you are going through right now, don’t give up!  Give it to God!  Lay it down at the foot of the cross and He will lift you up!  Our hope in Jesus will never disappoint us and by His power we can overcome our sufferings and rejoice in Him!

Grace and peace friends!  Grace and peace!
