Resting In Christ’s Power

Hello everyone!  Thank you all for praying for our kids!  Both kids are feeling great, praise God!  Our daughter is back to school and our son is staying home with me today just to give him one more day of rest.  They will both be back to school like normal tomorrow.

I would like to send out another prayer request.  I wasn’t going to talk about it because I am tired of talking about my health issues, but things have been turning for the worst for me.  I have been suffering from some problems related to Celiac.  I won’t get into the details, but I need prayer for healing for it.  Celiac also weakened my muscles and bones, so when I do physical things like shoveling snow I can hurt myself a lot easier.  I think I did something to my lower back last time I shoveled snow because it has been hurting like never before.  It hurt so bad this morning, I could barely walk to the bathroom when I got out of bed.  I am exhausted and the issues and my back have been getting worse over the last couple weeks.

I am only 40, but a lot of the time I feel like a young man in an old man’s body.  Celiac really messed me up and the disease is way worse than most people know.  It goes way deeper than gluten free.  Sometimes I get discouraged and deal with the anxiety having a chronic illness causes.  After I turned 40 last summer, I started thinking a lot about what it is going to be like for me when I am old since my body is so broken (if I make it to old age, God willing).  I have to constantly give that worry to God or else it crushes me.

I’m just not as strong as I used to be or should be at my age and that bothers me a lot.  I wish my kids could have seen me healthy and strong.  I give my weaknesses to God and ask Him for strength.  I am asking for healing once again even though every time I ask I hear the Lord tell me, “My grace is sufficient for you.”  I am coming before Him again and approaching the throne of grace with freedom and confidence.  His answer might still be no, but I need prayers for healing.  Please Lord Jesus, heal the issues that Celiac has caused and is causing to my body and please heal my back, amen.

When I am weak, I am strong!  Thank you for your prayers!

May the power of Jesus rest on us and may we rest in His power!

Grace and peace to you all!

“But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”  Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.  That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties.  For when I am weak, then I am strong.”

  1. I will certainly pray for you Ryan, and healing for you. I think so many of us are suffering some type if health issues. Just this afternoon I’ve been thanking God for my own illness, simply because that’s what I’m called to do. But it’s very difficult when I’m going through it. His word is true and He will strengthen you as I believe He will strengthen me. I will remember you in prayer and ask the same from you and others.🙏🏼🙏🏼

  2. I will definitely pray for you brother! I can understand what it is like and I know it’s not easy to deal with. Keep trusting, God is able even if we need to go through these trials, God is still able! One of my favorite verses which has helped me a lot, “Ah Lord God! behold, Thou hast made the heaven and the earth by Thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for Thee.” Jeremiah 32:17. There is nothing, (that is no thing!) too hard for our God. God bless! Glad to hear your kids are doing better now.
    Steve.

  3. Ryan, I pray to God for your healing everyday, and I will never quit praying for that, not ever. I’m so sorry you are feeling worse, I wish I could take it all away. I am praying and praying for your healing. Love you, Ryan.

  4. Definitely praying. I have been on a journey of searching out God’s will as far as healing goes. There’s so much reference in Scripture to “knowing the Will of God”. I wonder if we have missed something when we struggle so much to know the will of God

  5. Will keep you in prayer Ryan. At times is hard to understand why the Lord allows things like illnesses in our life. But in all things we know that God is good. Your faith is strong, it will get you through . Praising God your children are well.

  6. I will join you in prayer Ryan for healing and restoration of your body. It is good that you reach out to this community because there is power in unity. Dear Lord, according to your word that you desire your children to prosper in good health. We come in agreement with my brother Ryan that you will touch his body from his head to his feet and remove every disease from his system. We believe that he is healed and so we seal your word with an AMEN! Thank you Lord.
