Weary & Burdened

Pic quote Matthew 11 v 28 stars

Weary and burdened.  Those are two words that describe how billions of people on this earth feel.  This world throws a lot at us and that is an understatement.  No matter where you live we all go through trouble.  As life goes on, the challenges we face can wear us down and we feel as though we are carrying a heavy weight on our shoulders.  Do you feel weary and burdened right now?  Do you ever feel like giving up?  Jesus knew people were hurting under the weight of their troubles.  He knows our worries, shame, and guilt tear at our souls.  I have great news!  Jesus offered to take our burdens and give us rest for our souls!

Is that not what we all want, rest for our souls?!  Amen!  To have a deep peace that can only come from God flowing inside of you is a rest too beautiful for words!  We all need that rest.  We all desperately want to have peace instead of the raging turmoil of a soul separated from God.  We were created to have that rest and be at peace with God!

We enter that rest for our souls through faith in Jesus Christ.  He is the only One who ever died for us, so we could be reconciled with God.  He offers you forgiveness of all your sins and He will wash you clean by the power of the Holy Spirit!  Jesus is gentle and humble in heart and He is trustworthy!  You will have His peace inside your soul and you will enter His most glorious rest just as He promised!

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.  Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

Jesus in Matthew 11:28-30

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!  All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men’s sins against them.  And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation.”

2 Corinthians 5:17-19

You might ask, how can this be?  We have God’s peace and rest by the power of the Holy Spirit, who you receive the moment you confess your faith in Jesus!  The Holy Spirit empowers us with the fruits of the Spirit that enable us to live righteously in His peace.  That is how our souls are at rest!  We are forgiven and free by the Blood of the Lamb and our sins have been washed away like the morning mist!

“And you also were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation.  Having believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession–to the praise of his glory.”

Ephesians 1:13-14

“Those who obey his commands live in him, and he in them.  And this is how we know that he lives in us: We know it by the Spirit he gave us.”

1 John 3:24

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.  Against such things there is no law.”

Galatians 5:22-23

We are all weary and burdened at some point in our lives.  Come to Jesus today!  He will give you rest for your soul and not count your sins against you!  I can’t fully explain what it’s like to have all of those fruits of the Holy Spirit flowing inside of me.  God’s peace is so beautiful!  Every day I see those fruits manifest in my life and the lives of my wife and children no matter what trouble comes our way!  Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, and Self-control.  We have all of these Holy gifts from God in the Name of Jesus by the power of the Holy Spirit!  He offers this peace and rest to you too!  He offers it to the whole world!

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you.  I do not give to you as the world gives.  Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”

Jesus in John 14:27

The peace of Jesus is eternal and He promises you eternal life and rest for your soul!  Do you want that peace flowing through your soul?  Receive Jesus by faith and let Him do a new thing in your life!  Let Him save you and give you His peace!

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

Jesus in John 3:16

“That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”

Romans 10:9

“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith–and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God–not by works, so that no one can boast.”

Ephesians 2:8-9

If you do not know Jesus, I pray you enter into His rest today!  For those of you who do know Jesus, remember to continue in His rest every day.  He has given us true rest for our souls!  How sweet and good it is to walk with the Lord!

“I have swept away your

offenses like a cloud,

your sins like the morning

mist.

Return to me,

for I have redeemed you.”

Isaiah 44:22

Grace and peace to you all!

P.S.

  2. “Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me.” This proved to be a monumental passage for me in ministry when I saw the manifestation thereof! I wouldn’t trade this place for anything in the world! The journey here was worth it! Thanks brother! Great message!

  3. My daily morning prayer time always includes thanking God for using the Holy Spirit to keep me focused on the present moment…to not dwell on the past or worry about the future, but stay in the present for in the present is where I find His presence and His peace and joy. I actually feel the Holy Spirit renew and refresh me with His peace. Your wife is in my prayers. God Bless!! Have a great week!
